I have been using runcoach for about a year. I do not come from a serious running background but started running races a few years ago. The biggest difference I have noticed is in my training schedule. I used to read books or magazine articles and try some of the workouts I would read about. I decided to try runcoach because I was often injured and wasn't seeing the results I wanted from books and workout suggestions.
Since using runcoach I have not gotten injured and feel my training is much more consistent. I have even lowered my half marathon time and feel I am on track for many more good performances in the future. The daily schedule keeps me motivated and it is nice not to have to try to plan out which workouts I should be doing for certain races.
I have seen the results in my racing and also love when my schedule updates to show my current fitness has increased. I have really enjoyed the structure and support of having my training schedule planned out for me.
I love this app! I’ve been running with runcoach for years and loved the customized training plans. With the new app, I have a coach guiding me every step of the way! It measures my distance, time, pace per mile, overall pace, etc and gives me feedback along the way. Track workouts have never been so fun! It breaks down each step for me - tells me how long to warm up, specific drills to perform, the distance of each interval, the recovery jog between intervals, and how long to cool down. I’ll never run without my phone again!
Update to my review from Monday - Just downloaded the newest update. The biggest change is pace feedback intra-workout. I love it - it’s like having a personal trainer with me at all times!
Update to my review from last month - Just downloaded the latest version. Now it’s much easier to do a manual entries. So if I don’t have my phone with me, or I run on the treadmill, I can still easily enter the mileage and minutes. You can also change the workout type so it’s easier to flip flop days if you need to move around a few workouts.
Update to my review from version 3.2 - Still enjoying the app and all the great step by step guidance. The improvements with each version are a huge help. It just keeps getting better and better!
I tried out the app today and thought it was great. I've used the Focus-N-Fly site for the past 10 months and I can say without a doubt that there are NOT other services like this available. Other running websites offer only templates. With other training sites, there is no room to juggle your schedule around to fit your needs; there is usually only a choice of 2 or 3 levels to choose from; you don't know what to do if you miss a day, etc.
Focus-N-Fly is different from all the others because you can design the workouts to fit your schedule and there are NO templates. Everything is based on you and only you. You can't get that anywhere else. Now Focus-N-Fly is even better because I can access it on the go. I am honestly so so excited about this.
