Was Great But Now Just Another Sharing App

This was a easy to use, quick way to keep track of your workouts, however now it is nothing more than a fitness Facebook. The whole premise has changed from a "my fitness" app to a "sharing" app. Now you must sign in to save your workout. When stopping your activity you used to be able to save your workout with two clicks, now you have to stop, concentrate on the screens and sign in before you can save. I still have not been able to save my workout without signing up since the updates but the app keeps asking me to "resend to the website" and won't let me save. I don't want to share my workouts and I don't want to sign in to a service to be able to use a simple app. Sorry, Runkeeper but I'm deleting. I just want to quickly keep track of how I felt and how far I ran but you can no longer do that with this app. This is the exact same reason I quit using Runtastic.
So I contacted support and told them why I was not happy and the changes I hoped for and here is what they said. I guess once they get your money they don't care about customer support.
"Hello there,
Thank you for reaching out to Runkeeper Support. We're so sorry to see you go! We'll be here if you ever decide to come back."

Unreliable-especially paid version

I've used this app for 4 years. The first year was free, then I upgraded to the paid version in 2013. I used to absolutely love runkeeper. When this app works, it's great. However, that's become a rare occurrence. As someone who runs frequently, I'd like to have a dependable app to track & compare training runs. This app seems to frequently stop & lose the entire workout. It's description claims it works well with Apple Watch. I looked forward to this, and thought the convenience of not having to access my iPhone to check stats during a run would be great. Unfortunately, the app seems to rarely work with the watch. This was most frustrating during some long races & training runs. Just in the last few months, it has stopped working for me during a half marathon, a full marathon, and several 20-mile training runs. What's ironic is that this is the most expensive app I've added, yet I can count on it the least. The main reason I've kept it is because I have so much training history saved in the app. I really hope they can fix these glitches soon, otherwise, I don't think it's worth the price anymore.

Undependable and unstable = useless

Way to go, Runkeeper. You've broken my Apple Watch Move data again. I had a streak of 46 days going and now it's broken because of your buggy, untested update.

I've been using this app for two years, and it's let me down so many times I can't believe I am stuck using it.

I am tracking mileage for a long walking project where my goal is 3000 miles. I completed that cumulative distance and the only regret I have is that I used Runkeeper.

It crashes way too often, has no way of telling whether I've stopped or started, has a convoluted user interface, and now is an abomination when using it with the Apple Watch.

Why do I keep using it? Well, once you start using an app like this, it accumulates your data, and if you want to switch apps, you lose the proof that you actually walked those miles.

Please, don't make the same mistake I did. If you use this app, and especially if you pay for it like I have, you will regret it. If I could give it less than one star, I would.

Update: six months later and Runkeeper's problems with Apple Watch continue. In short, using it is an abomination. It will keep the correct time and distance on the iPhone and then somehow add that together with what it's recorded on the Apple Watch. It's just downright nonsensical. This is the worst implementation of a running app I've ever seen. Do not waste your time or effort on this.
