apple watch synch isn't good...
First of all I like the user interface, very accurate distance measurement and good stats displays. They need to work on testing with Apple watch - my main issue was random pauses in the workout. Also, add a user persona that doesn't run with headphones and doesn't want to share every run - I can't be the only runner out there with those traits! The entire experience assumes no one runs without listening to something. I actually found that the watch synch worked fine if I was wearing headphones - I plugged them in and then shoved them in with the phone. Annoying workaround. One other note with Apple watch - I think its overestimating active calories - or possibly doubling up with the watches active calorie measurement.
Apple Watch Support is Frustratingly Bad
I ride my bike to work 5 days a week. One of my friends tipped me off to this app to track my time (I had been doing it manually).
I was excited to use something that would track my heart rate and geo location. Unfortunately my excitement ended when I tried to use Run Keeper for the first time (spoilers: it crashed mid-ride).
I used this app (or, more appropriately tried to use) for all five commutes this week (that's 10 total rides). It successfully managed to log one ride. To be fair, it tracked two, but the app crashed when I tried to save one of the them.
The Apple Watch app either crashed or paused my tracking on the 8 other tries. Based on some recent other reviews, this just seems to be not ready for prime time.
For what it's worth, I'm using an iPhone 6s and Apple Watch both on the latest version of iOS.
I cannot recommend this app to anyone who is serious about tracking their workouts. It is buggy, unreliable, and it crashed during more than half my workouts this week.
I'd give it 0/5 if I could.
Unreliable Piece of Junk
I used to love this app. I've been using it for 4 years, with a paid subscription for two. But every update makes it more unstable, brings changes of questionable value, and introduces more bugs while leaving show-stoppers that have were reported years ago.
Apple Watch integration is horrible, loses Activity ring credit, and fails to start the activity half the time. When the activity does start from the Watch, the app crashes a few minutes in. I can't even describe how often this app crashes. It's turned into an unreliable piece of junk.
After being a staunch advocate for years, I'm now looking into a more reliable app.
