Decent but still missing some basics
The number one annoying thing that is missing is split time as as an audio cue. Every distance runner uses split times. Why doesn't run keeper have this as an audio cue? Split pace is useless. Maybe RK wants you to have to do the math to check blood flow to your brain?
Next is the inability to get to landscape mode unless you are actively in a run with the timer going. So you have to stop, find the little wrench that is probably covered by your armband, select landscape view, then go back and continue your run. This takes about 20-30 seconds and RK never seems to invoke autopause during this. And you have to do this every time since RK won't save your preference.
Finally the main display of timing bars is pretty useless because it takes all of the real estate leaving little room for the controls you actually use like stop, pause and next song. And it's pretty much unreadable anyway.
Other than that it works pretty well. I've clocked over 600 runs with it and finally decided to review it in the hope they will at least add split time.
Great app for cyclist
Very useful for cyclist who want to track their rides and get feedback on speed and terrain characteristics like elevation. I have been using this app for more than five years till I got a polar GPS watch with a heart rate monitor. I now use it less and less but still use it occasionally especially when my GPS watch is low on battery charge and cannot wait for a full charge. For riders who do long rides, specifically more than 3hrs this would drain your battery and as such you may need a back up power source so you do not totally run out of battery on your phone in case of any emergencies. Overall though both the free and full version of this app offer riders a lot of features for the price.
Broken after Sep 16 iOS 10 update!
After recent update, it's opens but gets frozen. None of the buttons work. It shows Dime outrageous numbers in the screen for Walk like 92 hrs, and 8,736 miles etc. Frozen and unresponsive screen. Only choice is to kill the app by double-clicking home button and removing/swiping app from running apps. I don't see anyone else with this issue do I wonder if I got a corrupted update?
My device: iPhone 6 with 64GB and updated to iOS 10 on Sept 20, 4 days after Runkeeper pushed its app update. Just FYI, in those 4 days Runkeeper worked just fine on the previous (9.x.y) latest version of iOS before v10. Any pointers or solutions would be helpful. I have not deleted the app and reinstalled, but will do it if that's the only fix. Thx!
