Rush Hour

Open iTunes to buy and download apps.

This is the original sliding block Traffic Jam puzzle, brought to you by the company who created it – ThinkFun.

This Rush Hour game comes with a whopping 2500 challenges, ranging from Beginner to high Expert. It's a brilliant range of challenges, if we do say so ourselves… you're going to have a lot of fun on your iPhone with Rush Hour!

This is the ORIGINAL Rush Hour – and it’s also the BEST.

Your goal is to get the Red Car out the Exit Gate. To accomplish, just move the blocking Cars and Trucks out of the way.

At ThinkFun, we believe in efficient driving. So for each challenge, we track your moves against the minimum distance possible, and score you on how close you came to a perfect distance score. Each challenge becomes a quest in itself!

For your moments of frustration, we’ve included a HINT button. If you need a big boost, we also provide a SOLVE button. We recommend you fight your way through and never use these, but they’re nice to have available.

- 2500 Games, 625 at each difficulty level
- Four difficulty levels – EASY, MEDIUM, HARD, EXPERT
- Measures your score against your Personal Best and Perfect Score
- Save multiple games in progress
- Hint/Reset/Undo buttons to help you figure out each puzzle
- Solve button to see how it’s done
- Quick and easy Tutorial
- Keeps history of "Solved" and "Perfectly Solved" challenges

The Rush Hour app has won a 2010 Parents' Choice Gold Award for excellence in mobile play and a 2011 Editor's Choice Award from Children's Technology Review.

i HAVE the car

Loved the board game as a kid, so seeing this on iOS was sweet. I mean, 2500 puzzles for like 3 bucks? You have to be a freaking computer to do all that! Put simply, I spent longer playing this game than all kinds of $60 AAA console titles. If you like Rush Hour, just get this.

Couple minor complaints:
-The animation that plays when you solve a level imperfectly is a bit long. Still better than in the earlier versions when the car drove directly over the UI which was all "that's wack man" and a bit infuriating when trying to perfect earlier levels, but the animation where the guy in the car is all "RAISE DA ROOF" when you finally perfect a level and you're like "AWWWWW YEA YOU KNOW IT" makes it all worth it.
-Having the perfect move count on screen after clearing a level with wasted moves would've made going back through all 2500 levels perfectly like I told myself I wouldn't a lot easier, so I'd know whether or not to slam it home on a path that improved on my best.

But yea, worth it. There needs to be more addicting games like this which are intellectual in a way that isn't explicitly designed to anger you by making barely impossible levels at choke points and demanding ransom to continue (*cough* Candy Crush *cough*). A well-done game.

Such an awesome, fun little game!

I am not a person who plays a lot of games, maybe I'll play a puzzle-type game like this once or twice a week, but once I downloaded this one I have pulled it out daily. It's such a beautifully designed game which makes it nice to play. It's easy to hard depending on the level you set for yourself - and there are a ton of different puzzles in each level to keep this going on a very long time. I love to play this game while waiting in line, sitting on hold or just taking a moment for myself to relax a bit. I bought the full version and my daughter and I have been playing it every day!

Great game, one request

I loved the plastic version of this game in the 90s, where you had to set up each challenge by referring to a card. This is so much better, with so many challenges available at each level, and the move counter. My one complaint is that it doesn't show you the minimum number of moves for a perfect solve *While you're working the puzzle. You see it at the end, but i want to know what my goal is while i'm at it. Otherwise i'm a big fan.
