Every time I try to connect to the cameras via my iPhone off my home WiFi network the app simply does not work. They need instructions with a port forwarding subject because everything I read directs me to that. I’ve tried to forward ports in order to see my cameras when I am not home but have failed to do so.
So after I wrote this review I found a really good support thread through cctv and was able to successfully connect my cameras to my phone using port forwarding and a public IP address that it assigned to the open network. That was the problem I was using a private network IP address that began with 192 but I needed to use a public IP address starting with 172 which cctv thread sent me to another website that gave me that IP address. No where in my router did it show a public IP address but I guess there is one.
It would really help if the instructions came with all this information.... the app is great though.

Developer Response

Yes, Some routers do not support p2p tunnels and transmit data through server forwarding mode, which is inefficient. This situation is recommended to use the IP connection, transmission efficiency and more stable, but this requires prior configuration port mapping!
You can simply search for the keyword "my public ip address" via google, then some web sites may show your public ip address. You can connect with this public ip address frome any where, but you need to configure the port mapping. If you want to know the router ip address, you should login the router and view the "WAN" and "LAN" information.

Cannot pull recorded video files from the app

Live view and playback are great! However, I’ve been trying to pull recorded video files from the app off and files don’t seem to work. I’ve tried emailing the files and opening them in google drive which either get sent or can be downloaded from google drive. Although it appears I can email the file, I can’t open them. The video file is in the .avi format which is usually quite simple to handle. I even used multiple file converters to try to convert to a different video file like .mp4. Nonetheless, the file converters can’t even read the .avi file. I can pull images fine, but what’s the point of having video cameras when I can’t even pull video.

No longer use cellular to view

Well something had caused the use of viewing my cameras remotely unless I’m connected to my home WiFi . Developer please fix this is annoying and I have lost the ability to view my cameras when using cellular / mobile connection. I have removed and installed the app again and no go !!! Also to connect to my NVR when at home with this app it doesn’t support more than 6 characters out of 8 of my password, horrible software testing on your end this is basic tests that should validate before sending this app to the App Store. I’m going to reverse engineer this app and find all the software bugs and disclose them is this isn’t fixed in 5 days!!!
