No Personalized Reminder Push Notifications
I was really stoked when I found this app. I’ve been looking for a while for an app that will remind me to interact with people that I want to keep in contact with, but don’t necessarily see regularly. And I wanted an app that would allow me to update, saying that I texted or called or saw someone, and it would automatically update the time until the next reminder. Ryze does that, sorta. Although Ryze has reminders on it’s in app calendar, it doesn’t have push notifications that will say, “It’s been XX days since you’ve talked to So-and-so. Say Hi!”, so this app is only as useful as me remembering to check the app. The daily reminder notification that Ryze exists sorta helps with that, but doesn’t quite get there for me.
Unfortunately, I’m going to have to bench it for now, but if Ryze ever implements push notifications for individuals (or even an email notification, like a weekly digest?) I’d be willing to give it another try.
They just updated the app and it’s SUPER BUGGY. Every other action I take results in getting a blank screen with nowhere to go. I have to close out the app and open it again.
I setup reminders for 40+ contacts (that’s a guesstimate) and in their update release message to users they said you have to manually go to each contact, change the reminder date, then change it back to get your reminders working again...😒 I’m guessing that’s only something current users have to deal with but it’s definitely frustrating.
Other than that I’ve really enjoyed the app to this point and have been using it daily to improve my relationships with friends and family. Can’t use it effectively right now because of the bugs so I’m going on hiatus until they get it together and will see what else is out there for relationship management apps.
Definite Potential! (And still worth using now)
I have high hopes for this app. Not quite a five-star app just yet, but I’m confident it’ll get there. It does about 90% of what I need to help me stay connected with people. What I’m hoping to see in the next versions:
-Custom reminders (with push notifications) to follow up with people about specific events. Say a friend tells me about a big presentation coming up in a couple of weeks; I’d love to be able to note that, and then set a reminder to ask how it went
-Tags. I’d love to be able to tag people with different skills, connections, etc. “Real Estate” “graphic design” etc. The current Groups feature is great and needed; I would hope to keep those, but be able to also search by tags. Say I’m looking for someone to help with graphic design. If I can search for that and find all contacts who do that, that’d be awesome.
-Sync with FB for birthdays. Not a big deal, but would be sweet to have. If it can’t sync directly, maybe just the ability to pull birthday info from the contact card?
All-in-all, these guys are on to something. If they keep improving the app, this will be something I use for a lifetime.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
