As a CCW permit holder, have you ever started walking into forbidden territory without realizing it?
Wish you had a way of getting an alert to keep you from doing so?
If so, SafeToCarry is here to help you stay in compliance with the law and business owner wishes!
As a community participation app, our users help keep our database of locations current in regards to whether they are marked as no weapons allowed or not. The application makes use of GPS location services and if you come within a near radius of a location that is not gun friendly, you get an alert on your iPhone or iPad.
While the app makes use of background gps services, we try to do so sparingly, making use of Apple's significant change api. If you are in an area of dense businesses, it may be necessary to open the app and refresh to ensure you see the most current list.
"Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life."
What's New in Version 1.1.0
- Adding State Info tab
Crashed but works
The app crashed the first couple times I tried to open it. It finally worked the 3rd time. It basically looks around you to see if there is a no gun place near. I am near the V.A. Hospital and this showed up with a stop sign on it. Very little real information. It tells you to add info for places you know. It's crowd sourcing the location info. Not a horrible idea but we will see.
Crashes iPhone 6
Opened it several times and it would start but then crash. Finally got it to open and showed only 2 business near me. Other apps out there more up to date
Used to work
Worked on my old iPhone 4s but not on the iPhone 6s with iOS 10. From the release date, I assume the app is no longer being updated.
