Life isn’t getting any easier for our favorite ronin! The journey continues in the land of silk and steel, where fantasy and reality clash and tough choices await you on every page. Get ready to prove why you’re the toughest ronin around.
"Samurai of Hyuga Book 3" is the mind-shattering 225,000 sequel to your favorite interactive tale by Devon Connell, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
Become the judge, jury and executioner of your peers. Walk the path of the detective, unravel a demonic mystery—or be consumed by it! Face your past and fight for your future as the student becomes the teacher. Discover the line between lover and monster, and be prepared to cross it.
• Take the law into your own hands as you bring justice with sharpened steel!
• Unravel a demonic mystery and discover the truths you were never meant to know!
• Find love (or something like it) as you do battle against true despair!
That and so much more await you in the third book of this epic series!
The first two entries in the series are highly enjoyable games which I played and enjoyed many times. They were fun stories, they had a pleasant mix of adventure, humor, fighting, romance, and immersion in the world of Hyuga. While the stories were mostly on rails, the choices provoked different responses, and it was fun to try to see how “attuned” your character could be with the optimal path.
This third entry is a depressing story with characters of questionable sympathy, run-on text in need of an editor, and choices that are meaningless to the story while penalizing the reader arbitrarily.
the choices feel more appropriate to a reading comprehension exam than a choice driven narrative.
To his credit author tried to innovate with the text entry option for some choices but that was also a complete failure. Due to the limitations of ChoiceScript, readers cannot go back and read previous text. Does the author expect us to be taking notes so that we can guess the key word at the right moment?
This fails as a game. It fails as a story. It kills any interest I had in future entries.
Give it a pass.
Amazing as always
I absolutely loved the 4th however there were certain points where no matter what choice you choose you were penalized. I hope to see more of certain new characters in the next book.
The first time I’ve cried at something fake.
This series is the only one to ever make me cry. I can’t wait to it through. I’ve never cried at a movie or book. This got to me, I fell in love with this series with book one. I can’t wait to finish it.
