San Francisco Offline Street Map
By Networking 2.0
This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.
This app allows you to browse street level map of San Francisco when you are traveling. You don't need to have internet connection for this to work as the map is stored on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Ideal for saving roaming charges or having to find the local wifi to access the built-in map application.
You can pinch to zoom in and out of the map just like you can with the built-in map application.
We are currently building and field testing support for GPS and this will be released as a free update soon. Stay tuned.
The source of the map is from Open Street Map, http://openstreetmap.com/ under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 license.

What's New in Version 4.0.0
* iOS 5 compatibility changes.
* Further bug fixes and improvements.
As far as the background goes, not all the neighborhoods are listed. SF is not limited to Fisherman's wharf, the Castro or Chinatown. What about North Beach and the Mission District?
I think the map zoom needs work. It is blurry when zoomed to 400 m and when moving the map it reverts to an unreadable size.
I realized this is free. Free is one thing but free and useful is something else.
Deleting until updated.
This app has a new version but the neighborhoods still have not been updated.
New version already crashed twice.
Why is this app available to download when it is useless?
Why is there a "Rate Me" option in the app if you don't read the reviews.
Doesn't zoom properly
Would be good but broken- no rotation, map does not zoom properly and resets
automatically if you zoom in too much making it basically useless.
