Customer Reviews

Very useful, wireless is great.

The drive works great. The Micro-SD slot, allows you to swap out many basic phones photo, video & whatever else. All that, and no data, hours of backing up to a cloud storage (not possible on many older phone models.) it's handy in my car for music, I can simply stream music from my own music library...free of charges that never end and consumes the data, I already pay for.
Long story short, get a SanDisk WiFi Drive and start connecting with yourself. Share that connection independently streaming different files at the same time. Very fast! My opinion, if you know enough to read in depth about your more expensive technology and know enough to buy something you'll actually use. Not plan on using it once then complaining it doesn't work right. HATERS. It's a great device just give it time, it'll set in.

Terrible with iPad 1 (5.1.1) but great with iOS 6+

Don't be mislead by the claim in the description that this app works with system 5+. It fails miserably with 5.1.1. Here are only a few of the bugs:

The screen functions don't work, e.g. can't pause a video in small or expanded screens. It will stop playing only when it reaches the end of the video.

If you expand to full screen, it is impossible to get back to the smaller screen and file list. When the screen is tapped, there is no "Done" button and no progress bar at the top of the screen, as when run with system 6 (on my iPod). The only thing that you can do is swipe the screen to the previous or next file. The app has to be completely shut down and restarted to get to the folders and files again.

When I brought this to Sandisk's attention they first claimed it was fine, but when I sent videos to them of how it behaves, they finally admitted there was a problem. However, since then in spite of assurances that they had fixed the problem, the app and firmware updates still have not solved the problems -- the operations with iOS 5 are no better, or worse.

The app does work with system 6 on my iPod and presumably on iPads with iOS 6+. However, I got it to watch videos on the iPad, not the tiny iPod screen, so it is a huge disappointment.

Why does the app description still say "requires iOS 5+"?

Returning it, I thought sandisappointment was a name to trust

Plays a selected song, auto-moves to the next song... lags... and crashes. (dane-elec media streamer doesn't though it has its own drawbacks)

While linked to the device it causes my phone to lag terribly. (dane-elec media streamer doesn't though it has its own drawbacks)

Lacks a shuffle feature when playing a list of songs (dane-elec media streamer does though it has its own drawbacks)

Dane-elec media streamer isn't a name brand so I expected things like over heating, occassional crashing after playing 20-30 minutes of audio, parts of the app interface broken, and so forth. Then, I found the sandisappointment device and thought, "Finally a name brand that will do it right!"

Sadly, they did it worse.

I should have known that if they have to bundle it with a micro sd card then it's going to be a failure. I also should have been skeptical of the reviewers that gave it amazing reviews (if they keep the product after testing it and didn't pay to keep it; the company is simply paying for a good review through free products).

I'm returning it, like I returned the dane-elec one, and will wait for a company that is worthy of being called a name brand to get it right.

"Sandisappointment: we're not good but at least we're nice about it and never cease failing."
