What's New in Version 1.9
-Minor bug fixes
Crashes often, unable to find some topics.
I have used print versions of the Sanford Guides for years and have always found them to be very accessible, helpful and fun to use. I just downloaded this version to my iPhone 5s running iOS 7.1 and find that it crashes often. Not a huge deal but annoying. Worse, I cannot locate some information I need. For example, when I search for Tropical Sprue, absolutely nothing comes up. I have tried also looking under all headings for gastrointestinal illness and this entity is just not there. This is really disappointing and leaves me regretting my purchase.
Great app, much better than the book!
I'm not sure where all the negative criticism is coming from. I found the app to be much more effective than the book and stopped using the book as soon as I tried the app. Had not had any problem with the app either and think the colors are fine. Took one star away for the formatting (appearance).
Highly recommend for the dev team to check out Johns Hopkins ABX guide and adjust the formatting from there.
Buggy and Unclear
Some healthy bugs to work out. They don't make it unusable, but somewhat unreliable when you need an answer quickly in the hospital.
I have had to reinstall a couple times because it freezes, will not search, or will not scroll down the page of content. When attempting to reinstall, at first it can't detect the internet connection to download content even when connected. You have to force quick and restart. (Watch out when reinstalling, too. You can very easily pay for another year's subscription by hitting the $29.99 button. Instead, click on "Restore Content.")
It could use a guide or help section. When treatment regimens list drugs, it is unclear whether they are supposed to be given together or are separate options.
It could also use a scroll bar on the side when viewing the long lists of drugs or bugs, though you can always search. And it would be nice if clicking on the home button did not clear the memory of the last bug/drug you were on.
