The Schwinn Trainer™ app is designed for your Model Year 17 Bluetooth® enabled Schwinn cardio products and is a great tool to help on your fitness journey as you watch the calories melt away. The Schwinn Trainer™ app also supports Apple Health. The Health app lets you keep all your fitness and health information in one easy to read dashboard. Now you can seamlessly sync all your workouts with Health and see your calories burned, workout data, and HR data in the Health dashboard.

Desperately Needing Updates and Fixes
The app technically works, but not in a particularly useful way.
I was excited to see this app connects to the Apple Health app, but it only sends over “Active Energy” as opposed to contributing to the “Active Calories” data feeding into the Apple Watch.
*This means your workouts WILL NOT contribute to your Move ring if you have an Apple Watch!*
This is quite a shortcoming. It also does not send over heart rate data, which I can see no reason for since it is tracking that data as well.
Another issue is that the app has not been updated to fit an iPhone X/XS/XR screen. This makes the app feel extremely antiquated and lacking the attention it needs. If something that simple hasn’t been updated in over a year, I don’t have confidence the more technical issues will be fixed anytime soon.
An update to this app using the Apple Watch API would make it much more useful than it is. Even small things like the workouts showing up on my phone as “Elliptical” when I’m using a bike is an issue. Clearly needs a lot of work and I don’t feel confident it will improve any time soon.
My Schwinn 170 is a fantastic bike, but I will not be using its over-promising app unfortunately.
Works as advertised
The app works as advertised but has room for improvement. Currently the app tracks heart rate but does not transfer this information to HealthKit. If you want heart rate info, you can use your Watch and start and Indoor Cycle Workout, but this results in 2 workouts being logged.

I do believe that we're working on some Apple improvements and fixes tied to updated Apple Health compatibility so hopefully that is something we see addressed and resolved in a future update. When it comes to updates, we track issues and requests and work to get them to the app down the road. Sync distance with apple health.
The app itself is good, connects to my bike fine, but ideally all of the data should be going to Apple Health which needs to swallow up data from numerous apps such as this and other sources to be helpful. It does not currently sync Cycling distance, which is completely inexplicable. Ruins my ability to consistently track my goals in Health as my cycling changes from outdoors to indoors as it gets cold.

Hey andrewkovacs, we're sorry to hear about any trouble. I've sent info along to our app team that distance is not being exported to Apple Health correctly. I'd recommend doubling up on that by going to the app settings and then using the "Send us an email" option. That way, our App Team will have info on your specific setup and they'll also reply back to you directly typically within 1 or 2 business days.
