Always blurry on iPhone 11

There’s no way to get Retina-sharp text; every page is blurry with this app. When I get the new-issue email and tap Read Now, I get the web site .org version that’s even worse, impossibly blurry. The only way to get sharp text is to tap the icon in the upper right corner of the .org version, then tap Download, tap Download again, wait for the download, then tap the blue down arrow, then tap the file, and you’re in PDF mode with sharp text and landscape support. It should be easier to get sharp text and landscape support. The content is always excellent if you can just see it in sharp text.

Good—with a couple flaws

I am rather enjoying the app. I have an electronic subscription, but found I haven't been keeping up with reading the magazine since I've stopped receiving them in the mail. This app helps me to get back to reading every issue. I have found one bug so far and a little annoyance.

First for the bug. I am unable to share anything to social media. Every time I try to shave via Twitter, or Facebook the app crashes. So, effectively I can't share via social media.

Second the annoyance. If I close the app, when I re-open it I am taken to my library and not the article I was reading. I've tried downloading the issue to my phone, but the app still opens to my library. This app would be just about perfect if it saved my reading location. You can't really use the bookmark feature to save your issue progress, it basically puts a copy of the article on your phone. If you return to your bookmark you can't continue to the next article if the issue. This is fine as it allows you to keep certian articles handy regardless of the issue it was published in. I would just really appreciate being able to close the app and open it to where I left off.

paid thru Apple subscription keeps asking me to sign in

Update to below review/issue - Mar 19, 2023;
SN has fixed the login issue I reported below and I have been once again enjoying their great content. And they have continued to improve the layout for iPad. Thanks SN

I’ve had a paid subscription thru Apple for years, but now I can’t read any issues. Pop up asks if I’m enjoying my preview and wants me to sign in with an email. I don’t have an email based subscription , it’s thru Apple. Went to website, no help there. This has been an off and on problem for some years that would go away/self-correct after coming back weeks later. Now I’m not reading any issues with my paid subscription. This is unacceptable, very disappointed. Will have to cancel subscription and find another science journal.
