We are proud to introduce ScoreSkills- A fun, fast and easy way for you to learn and train in musical theory and skills.

- Requires no previous knowledge in music whatsoever
- Suitable for all ages (you just need to know how to read English)
- You can play and learn anywhere and does not require a musical instrument

ScoreSkills is the only music education app that trains your music transcription (writing) abilities as a core part of learning. Practice reading, writing and listening and join our community of music learners

How does it work?
We start with C, D, E, and by solving easy games and puzzles you will seamlessly learn and improve your skills in: music theory, ear training, sight reading, music transcription and much more.

The app contains hundreds of levels and we will plan to release hundreds more every couple of weeks. You can try ScoreSkills for the first few chapters for free and will be asked to purchase a monthly subscription or annual subscription to keep on learning.

We hope you enjoy learning music with ScoreSkills and we can't wait to hear your feedback and comments

How does the Subscription work:
All users can play a few free chapters and can purchase a subscription package at any time. The subscription unblocks all chapters but does not unlock all levels. unlocking levels can only be achieved by successfully playing through and qualifying app chapters and levels.
Recurring billing, cancel anytime. After your free trial ends, your account will be charged unless your subscription is canceled more than 24 hours before the end of the trial period. Payment will be charged to your iTunes account, and your account will be charged for renewal 24-hours prior to the end of the current period. Auto-renewal may be turned off at and time by going to your settings in the iTunes Store after purchase. Any unused of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Pick from the following subscription options:
- Monthly recurring subscription for $4.99 per month
- Yearly recurring subscription for $59.99 per year

Will be good with some improvement

I played through the first two levels, which shouldn’t be difficult for a musician. I still got some wrong though: the first time I was required to write a quarter note instead of the whole note that was used previously (there was nothing to tell me that rhythm was now important); when it told me to select the note “D” but there wasn’t one there (apparently it thought “E” was correct); when I tried to draw a half note on the screen but couldn’t get it to recognize it; and when I had to fill in the missing notes of a melody, but the audio would not play correctly even after several attempts to replay it. I also could not draw a full quarter note with a stem—it would only recognize a quarter note if I made a filled-in circle, without a stem. I think this is why it wouldn’t recognize the half note also.

Once these bugs are worked out, this game could be good for students who are already being taught basic music theory, as a way to strengthen their skills. Someone with no music training would likely get frustrated at their inability to not only recognize C and D on the staff, but to hear the difference, as they are asked to do in the very first level. This game might be more accessible to people with no music training if it included tutorials that the player could go through if they want before playing the game for that level. As it is, I see potential for beginning music students, especially those who don’t like to do written theory work. As a teacher I would prefer that the note recognition, rhythm, and aural training are separated into different games at the same level, at least at the beginning, so a student is better able to see where their skills and challenges are. For now I’ll keep it on my iPad, and maybe have some students try it after an update or two.

Developer Response ,

Thank you so much for this detailed review! Especially as this this is our first day out in the world. You wrote some very important things here and we so appreciate this feedback from you.
We promise we will always be improving our curriculum to make sure we fit all children's learning habits (already remotely fixed that issue with the "E" note you mentioned).
Thanks again and please send us an email directly, we would love to chat some more
