Description

Scout – the app that connects people together for live events, not just to find places! Meet Up without the hassle of using multiple apps to coordinate, communicate, and navigate. It’s the only app that lets you chat, make plans, and Meet Up with turn-by-turn GPS directions and everyone’s real-time ETA on the navigation map. Now you’ll always know if “five minutes away” really means “I haven’t left yet!”

* New! Keep in touch and drive together – Get notified when your friends start driving to the Meet Up and see everyone’s ETAs and location on the map at the same time. Let your friends know you are on the way before you drive.

* New! Chat within your Meet Up – Create a Meet Up, share with friends and chat with attendees all in the same event thread. Attendees can leave the conversation with just a swipe.

* New! Explore new places – Find restaurants, coffee, ATMs, cheap gas stations and more nearby spots when searching for your target destination. Locate cheap parking closest to your destination.

* New! Meet Up reminders – Never worry about forgetting about your Meet Up with a new and improved interface. Scout will remind you within one hour of your Meet Up, so you can always get there on

Social Media with an Occasional Focus on Navigation

This used to be my go to navigation app. I gave up when they started focusing on social media and the quality of the app seemed to be declining. If I wanted social media I would use another free app supported by a huge company with very deep pockets. Where is decent lane guidance? How about a functional auto zoom like most of your competition so I can tell which of the four lane I need to be in to take the right onramp/offramp. How about differentiating yourself by providing some decent route planning. Focus on perfecting the essentials like getting me from point a to point b and then worry about the other stuff. I am disappointed to see what was once a great app degenerate to a glorified social media app. Listen to the reviews (there are plenty of them saying the same thing) and react accordingly if you want our $ going forward.

Too much focus on adding 'social' features

Scout, listen up - you're a map program, not a social network! Way too much developer time has been spent adding 'meetup' and 'chat' features when they should've been focusing on making innovating map & guidance functionality.

Do you know who says "I'll text you from my gps to let you when I'll be there"? Nobody, that's who! Are the teeny-boppers downloading a GPS app so they can send text messages to each other (or even their parents)? No!

Put the development team to work on coming up with ways to make your apps more accurate and less likely to send me the wrong way down a one-way road or tell me how my usual route to work should be changed today due to an accident or construction. That's the type of thing that will get you customers and earn the loyalty of your users.

I really dislike this new version of GPS

It saddens me to say this because I really don't like to be negative but this is by far one of the worst GPS apps I have ever used. Like many other people that wrote a review, I too was used to their previous version of GPS called TeleNav. That version of GPS was able to get me to and from hundreds of destinations seamlessly. I travel for a living and pretty much have to depend on the GPS 90% of the time. Again with the previous version I hardly ever had a problem. To be honest, I can't get this GPS to get me home which is 33 miles from my office! I would not recommend this type of GPS to anyone who seriously needs it. It may be more suitable towards the persons who want to use it more like social media to see who is close by. If they ever decide to bring the TeleNav back, i'd be willing to pay double or even triple for it! It was just that good!
