Customer Reviews

The following paragraph was written a couple if weeks ago to supplement the review in the second paragraph below written several months ago. Since then, my 1-star goes to zero (if I could). The App logged out of Facebook and when I went to sign back in, it took me to Tune-in Radio instead of Facebook. I deleted and re-installed and it still did it. Give me a break. My existing games are gone except on my phone. I will finish them there although a vision impairment makes that difficult. This is a totally worthless program and I am abandoning it. Words With Friends works great.

This app loads slowly if at all, letters are sometimes difficult to get to stay on board as you drag them to play, and switch from one game to another is frequently cumbersome. I play both Scrabble and Word With Friends and Word is better by a mile. This is a very average app.

Since writing the above review the App has actually gotten slower to load (about 30 to 40 seconds for what should be a 5 second process), is slower than ever to pull up a game, the ads between plays are clearly designed to drive players to the pay edition as they are very intrusive and cause me to NOT want to buy the product being advertised, and is just about the worst App on my iPad.

Too many ads

Game itself is ok but you will get an ad every single round. These are not 5 seconds ads but 30+ second ads. Some don't even tell you how long to force you to have to look at them to check if they are done. Taco Bell one is most annoying. It has no timer, you can not X out, so I don't even know what to do. Because you only can see half the page it tricks you to think that if you swipe to see their ad then it will go away. Not so. So I left it sitting on my desk and did something else. When I came back it was done. The first time. The second time I just couldn't get rid if it. And really it isn't enjoyable to have to walk away and come back every. Single. Round. So even though I was winning by over 49 points, and I only had 4 more does to go, I abandoned the game and I deleted the app. I just can't deal any longer. I made a mental note to not eat at Taco Bell for a while. I suppose you can pay $7.99 for the paid app. But this free one ... Don't do it.

Bad update

The latest update is a backwards step reintroducing bugs or removing features that have been in the product for some time. Main complaints are the dictionary: you can no longer change a single character unless it is the last character - you used to be able to set the cursor position by holding your finger over the entry field. The Origins login has been unstable since the update and has logged me out multiple time, it would be good if it remembered some details of the account, I was also forced out of a couple of games, these said that I had left the game. I miss the teacher too, now there is no indication of whether you played a good, bad or indifferent move without actually clicking on the button. The number of games ready for you to play is mostly wrong - not sure how it decides. The names of who you are playing generally show up as guest and a number rather than the actual person.
