Application to mirror the screen of your Mac to any Sony Bravia Smart TV. No wires and no additional hardware needed! You can also stream individual video files from your Mac to your TV. Also, we included the option to watch one window on your Mac, and another window on your TV!
This works on any Sony Smart TV from the 2012 models onwards.
If your Sony TV is running the Android TV operating system, there is also a Android TV app on the Google Play Store that you can install on your Sony TV for even better performance, check it here: http://bit.ly/gpsmirror
In using the app, there will be about 1 to 2 seconds of latency. So this mirroring is not suitable for gaming.
However, it is very suitable for watching movies, giving presentations, watching photos, and much more!
The quality of your experience will be dependent on the quality of your local network. Some tips to enhance the experience:
- Preferably, connect your TV by LAN cable to your router.
- Use an "ac" router. If you don't have one, then an "n" router.
- Try not to overload your wifi network by moving big files around while you are mirroring.
How the app works:
First, make sure that your Sony TV is on the same local network and same subnet as your Mac. The TV should not be in screen mirroring mode, but just on "TV" Mode or any HDMI IN port.
After launching the app, you will see the app icon appearing in the top bar of your Mac and the app will look for your TV on the network. It will show your TV when it has found it. Now, you have two options:
Mirror your Mac Screen:
Use this option to put the screen of your Mac on TV. In source, you can select which screen (or attached monitor) you want to display on TV. If you are running multiple applications on your Mac, you can also select which application window you want to see on TV.
Enable Sound: check this to hear the sound of your Mac coming from the TV. You will need the additional (free) audio driver, which you can download here: http://bit.ly/MirrorAudio
Play Video File:
Use this option if you have a video file on your Mac and you want to play just the file on TV. Drop it in the box and it will play on TV.
Settings (the icon in the bottom right of the app): click here to request support from our 24/7 support staff. They usually respond within 2 hours on any query that you might have. If your question is technical, please also include the diagnostics information.
Limitations: Apple has HDCP DRM protection for playing iTunes movies. This means that screen mirroring is not possible when watching movies from iTunes.
When you like the app, please don't forget to give it a positive rating! Thanks in advance from the AirBeamTV development team!

Works just fine!
I’ve only used it for a day, but it seems to be working just fine from my MacBook Pro (Sierra) to my 4K Sony Bravia. The delay isnt an issue for me because - really, you’re watching it on one screen not two. I did have to dload the extra codec for playing audio and after I’m done I have to click on the speaker icon to change back to “internal speakers”. It’s all good as long as it works!
ONLY issue was I was kinda miffed the demo is only 2 minutes. I was trying to fix things and troubleshoot and 2 minutes is just not enough time, you have to keep restarting the application. I almost backed out of buying the app because of this. Other than that, I am happy.
MacBook Air to Sony KDL-50R550A - SOUND TIPS
I love this app. The picture is amazing and the sound as well. SOUND PROBLEMS? I discovered that you have to make sure to have a good router. I was having some intermittent sound problems until I switched from my AT&T router to my Apple AirPort router. Also, make sure you use an HDML input on your TV and NOT your “Screen Mirroring” input, and remember to select “Enable Sound on TV” in the app. Also, if. you have any problems, the customer support on the Mirror for Sony TV Facebook page is amazing.
Useless with 5-10 second delay
I can’t believe they charge $ for this app, or that it has even been released to the public since it clearly doesn’t even do what it’s indended purpose is… mirror. There’s consistently a 5-10 second delay which renders it completely useless. I contacted support, did everything they asked (restarted everything, downloaded the audio sync, etc) but still no difference and will get a refund. Waste of time. To the developers, you should really make sure your product works before releasing it and wasting your customer’s and apple’s time who has to refund everyone for your non-functioning app. Hire some proper engineers please. It’s 2018, get it together.
Developer Response ,
Sorry to hear your concern. Usually the latency is only 1 - 3 seconds and thats what we notice in our office as well. Mirroring from your Mac to your Smart TV is quite a heavy job for your home network. Lots of data is going from your Mac to your TV and it needs to be there on time. If the performance of the router is not good, then you will face issues as such. So this is purely depended on the network set-up you have.
However, we are working towards reducing the latency even when the network setup is not fully optimized. We will soon reach out to you with the good news. Thanks!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
