Finally a way to manage your children's screen time!
"Children in the United States watch an average of three to four hours of television a day. By the time of high school graduation, they will have spent more time watching television than they have in the classroom. - American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry"

Screen Time was developed by a dad of 3 young boys who love technology. It was with them in mind that this easy-to-track tool was born.

We understand tv and gadgets are an important part of our kids' lives and can be used to provide educational opportunities for them. At the same time, we want our kids to develop healthy viewing habits and feel empowered by the choices they make.

Screen Time is NOT just a time tracker!

With Screen Time, you can:

* Assign daily minute allowances for each child. Allowances can be set to repeat each day or accumulate based on your preference.

* Empower children to earn screen minutes by doing chores and displaying good behavior.

* Encourage your kids to give up those minutes (with a kid-friendly screen) for other activities and rewards. Kids learn valuable skills by saving minutes for delayed gratification.

* Customize and have fun!!! Add, change, or remove tasks and rewards to fit yours and your kids' needs.

Children need a balanced lifestyle that involves a great mix of rich activities, both indoors and outdoors. Let us help you take care of their media interactions.

We welcome your feedback!

Empowerment, Responsibility, Happy Kids & Parents Too!

I thought about developing a web about to do this, then I searched the iTunes App Store! Less than $2 and yes, a reasonable amount of parental involvement (it is my phone and they are my kids after all ;) and this app has changed a tense challenge into a fun, empowering teaching tool. In our case, our kids (7, 9, 13) are earning every bit of screen (or cashed in reward) time and they are loving it! In fact, since we began the T.V. or other devices have only been on a minuscule amount of time - I kid you NOT! The rewards idea has their attention while they have all the power to earn and use or redeem as they wish. Granted: we also instituted negative time rewards for discipline as needed and we only allow a certain amount of screen time to be used per day. We have also opted to log earned time at the end of each day, encouraging our kids to log tasks throughout the day in a journal (also teaching moment). So, for tracking, fun, empowering your kids and and teaching responsibility as well as reward for achievements, THIS APP ROCKS!

One request, allow the transfer or syncing of content/database between devices such as an iPhone and iPad tablet via iTunes or WiFi.

great app!

I and my kids really like this. They are eager to do chores now. It's helping us get off to a great start this summer.

I like that I can customize chores (I added going places with me for 20 minutes of screen time because I hate going alone). I also allow them ten minutes everyday, as long as the living room is picked up (I don't think they have figured out this is actually a chore for which they get compensated!)

I would like to be able to sync the app with my husband's phone, and I sent the suggestion to the developers. They sent a great email telling me they are working on it! So customer service seems to be good, too.

Good app to moitor media usage

Overall, this is a good app to help monitor your child or children's media time usage. It enables you to set the amount of time per child. The child can earn extra time by making healthy choices and can earn rewards by trading in time. You are able to add, change, delete rewards as it comes with some already put in for you. This would need to most likely be run by the parent as it may be to difficult for younger children to use and older children may change the settings.
