ScreenNinja is the perfect tool to record Time-Lapse screencasts of your long-running creative processes. It lets you transform the creation of your next digital painting, comic, icon, website or other work of art, into an interesting and exciting Time-Lapse video.

One click will start your recording. Or, you can explore the options that control how ScreenNinja will record and what will be visible in your recordings.

ScreenNinja has Ninja Powers:
You can Hide apps from your recording, or 'Solo' the apps you're using (and automatically hide everything else). Hiddden apps remain visible on your screen where you can use and interact with them, but they magically vanish from your recordings.

• Create amazing Time-Lapse screencasts.
• Hide any app from your recordings.
• Choose if System Elements like the Menu Bar, Dock, Desktop Icons and OS X Notifications are visible in your recordings.
• Pause and resume recording.
• Use the Time-Lapse Amount Slider, or specify exactly how often frames are captured and how many frames per second your final Time-Lapse will be.
• Advanced crop control.
• Optional webcam overlay in your recordings.
• Multiple Screen and HiDPI/Retina Display support.
• Export in H.264, Motion-JPEG, ProRes and more.

One More Thing:
ScreenNinja's SingleShot lets you set a system wide hotkey that takes single screenshots with all the same options as are available for recording.

Thank you for making this app!

It's not often an app feels custom designed for me, with the exact tools I need and nothing more. This is perfect for digital artists!

I've recorded 30+ hour art sessions in the past that ate my storage space alive! All just to make a 3-5 minute time lapse... When I started doing digital art, recording it was one of my favorite things, but I eventually gave up. Some of the other apps finally offer 1 fps capture, but even that's too much for long sessions. Then there's extra steps to speed up each clip, put them together, and eport to the speed you really wanted.

Here's a tip for Photoshop artists with a second monitor: go to window>arrange>new window for "file name". Put this 2nd window on the 2nd monitor, hit F to go fullscreen, cmd+0 to zoom to fit. Do the work on the FIRST screen. You can have all your tools and palettes there, zoom around and do the dirty work. Every time you make a mark, it will update on the second screen, which is zoomed out and remains still. Record the SECOND screen. The resulting timelapse is like watching a painting come to life before your eyes!

Fun and Easy to Use

I'm a graphic artist and am so excited to use this app! It's very easy to use and perfect to document my process on design projects. The "hidden panels" bar is genius! Excited to see where this goes.

Crashes every time

This app is awesome, but only when it works. It hasn’t worked for me the last 30 times I’ve tried it.
It just crashes as soon as I try to start recording. Very frustrating.
