Same stuff I can get online from my county library

When Scribd's boss told PBS's Charlie Rose stand-in Scribd had "millions" of ... audiobooks, I went right to the App Store and charged my apple account $8.99. When I opened the app it offered me a free one month trial. Then it limited the audiobooks I could check out per month--two was the limit I believe. Then the list of newspapers. NYT, good. Everything else I'd rarely heard of. I didn't bother. I went right to an audiobook, though not the one I was hoping for. It was very easy to listen. No fuss like public libraries' Overdrive app. Still, $9 a month for limited audiobooks, no thanks. I canceled in a day.

If you don't live near a public library system, the tiniest of which now offers books online for free, this may be a godsend.

It's ok but flawed in some ways

I get the whole lots of books but I don't get that you only get 3 credits in a month? So if you're a fast reader and your books all have credits needed like a book series you have to wait till next month to read it? Yes that's what's wrong with this. Yes there are lots of free books no credit needed but why people use it is for the books they want not for the free ones. I read fast many people do specially if it's a series and a book we love I'm on to the next and I can't read it anymore I have to wait next month. So I'll use the app next month? That's what's wrong about this whole app.

Sometimes you just want to kick back and let someone else drive

I love the app. I listen on my commute to work. I am an avid reader, but sometimes it is nice just to kick back and let someone else drive for a bit. There is nothing more relaxing then a cool day, a hammock and a great book. I have expanded my reading through the many suggested reads and reading lists. I recommend the app all the time. It doesn't replace my local book store, it is a great addition to it!
