Bad technology and follow through
Never again will I use seat geek. Just use StubHub. I purchased tickets for a Carolina Panthers game. I bought them three weeks in advance. I didn't get the email that the tickets were available to download until 5pm on Friday before the game. I was already on a plane to Charlotte at that time. You then must print the tickets so I had to search for a place to get online and print the tickets. With StubHub, you can save e-tickets to Apple Wallet so no need to print. Get with the times and it should not take three weeks to get the tickets. Delete the app!
As a follow up to the developers response, you didn't address my frustration. You put the blame on the venue or event however I've never had the issue of waiting 3 weeks for tickets when using StubHub. Plus, printing out tickets should be an option, not a requirement. Out of date technology. It should be SeatGeek's policy that if a ticket is sold, it should become available within a reasonable amount of time after purchase. I should not have to wait three weeks to get the tickets that were already confirmed and paid for. I shouldn't have to wait until the Friday before a game to get tickets when I purchased the tickets weeks before. That is a SeatGeek issue with setting policies with those selling the tickets. I've never had the same issue using StubHub....ever!
Hey there — delivery timelines do differ by listing and are influenced by both artist and venue policies. Sometimes this does mean that tickets are delivered sooner to your event than the purchase date, but we do guarantee all purchases. Seatgeek stole my money!
I bought tickets for an NBA Clippers game in October 2017. I bought 4 tickets for my college friends that were coming into town to visit me and hang out in DTLA. I show up to the game and present our tickets via mobile app. The staples center indicated that my tickets were invalid. I went to the front office box and was informed that the tickets were “no good.” They told me to refer to seatgeek. I emailed and called seatgeek over a dozen times as I stood outside of staples center demanding an answer as to why my tickets were invalid. The next day I got a response from seatgeek saying that I was supposed to print the tickets and that I was informed about this. However, no where on the tickets, the receipt, or email confirmation did it indicate that I had to specifically print the tickets! I argued my case and I stated that I gained entry to many previous events using the mobile app without having to print the tickets. I consistently continued to reach out to seatgeek but they offered no help! I called my credit card company to file a hold on the charge. 3 months later my bank could not reimburse me the money because seatgeek pled that I was trying create “fraud.” I was so upset and disappointment in seatgeek! What liars! Seatgeek literally stole close to $400 from me! I hate seatgeek! Never use them! Thiefs! Seatgeek is a shameful company for stealing my money!
Our team has taken the time to review your order as well as the contacts made following your arrival to the Staples Center and do see that your phone call and emails sent that evening were also sent following our team's working hours, which is why a response was sent the following morning. We do apologize that our office was closed upon your emails following 8p PST. Our app does mention 'Printing is Required' for tickets where printing is required and I do see that these tickets were marked as such for this order, so that messaging would have been available upon opening your tickets in-app. These mobile settings are determined by the Staples Center and cannot be enabled unless the venue approves that change. In any case, we are sorry to hear of this occurrence and appreciate your feedback.
Never will use again.
Yesterday I bought four tickets to a Chicago cubs games while I was driving into Chicago, after I order my tickets I get a call confirming my purchase asking me if I realized the game was in Chicago and asking if I was even there. I understand confirming the purchase but after I answer all their questions, to then be asked insulting questions like “do you know the game is in Chicago?” Its annoying, but after that ridiculous conversation the lady told me my confirmation email would be sent shortly. when I was pulling into Chicago almost to Wrigley I get an email saying my order had been cancelled because the tickets had already been sold. This was frustrating to say the least and I was about to purchase more tickets with this app but before that I glanced at the comments and realized seat geek being incompetent seems to be a reoccurring theme.
I then went back to my stub hub app that is an all around better app, and apparently better service. I bought my tickets and immediately received the tickets on my phone.
I guess seat geek could push this experience on a third party but that’s not a good excuse to do business with a company like that. My advice to anyone looking for an app to buy tickets go to stub hub, it’s much better.
