Extra 2 stars for effort
This app has great potential. Nice GUI and smooth when working. I love it but unfortunately I cannot use it full time yet. When adding exchange it seems to verify well but once you go to use it, error messages appear for sending and accounts don't receive either. (Well once in a while one will get by and appear in the inbox) tons of bugs. If you don't put your signatures in 100 percent correct during setup they won't save or contact and avatar either. Some bugs with plugins, they don't save even after granting perms. I very much hope all this cleans up because this would become prob the best prod app in the store, It eliminates the need for contacts, calendar, this app even has a files folder. Love it. Request: would be great to add plugins Gdrive and Onedrive/MS365 office since there's a file folder.
Update: things seem like they are working less now than before however starting to get some late notifications more often so one side up. My exchange emails still don't work but I really like this app and think that eventually it will takeover my calendar , contacts, and email apps all together. I sent a email to support they responded within a decent time frame, I seen some other post and did not have that same experience. Also the dev(s) seem to know about what needs to be fixed and that they are on it, nice to know that we should expect good things to come.
This app seems to have great promise. I love the design and features... when it works.
I constantly get a login error with my IMAP account. Hard quitting and reopening app works but is annoying to do every time I want to check my email.
Push notifications seem to work about 85% of the time. And when they do work, clicking on a notification will occasionally take me to my inbox where there is no new message, even after pulling to refresh several times.
I've shared these issues both on Twitter and via email with Seed, but have gotten no response. I've noticed on Twitter that there are also other users with similar issues who have also not received any response. In fact, the majority of the tweets from Seed seem to be to larger websites and Twitter accounts, petitioning them to use Seed and talk about it.
In today's fast paced tech/app world, launching an application without the capacity to engage with your users and their issues is a HUGE drawback.
These guys have a great app, but I'm weary of their unresponsiveness to known issues that their users are putting out there and their immaturity in how their social outlets are managed.
Best Email App in App Store
I've tried Gmail, Mailbox, CloudMagic, EvoMail, Hop, and Sparrow (when it was still available), and this is by far the best. Seed is easier to set up, easier to use, and seems more reliable. One feature that I found particularly useful is Snooze. Mailbox and EvoMail also has this feature but seem less reliable and harder to use. For example, EvoMail will remove the snoozed mail from the inbox but does not provide a way to retrieve it easily. And Mailbox does not support IMAP. Seed's interface is also cleaner and not gimmicky like Hop. The only reason it is 4 stars is because of the 5 email accounts limit. It would have been perfect if there is no such restriction.
