I'm Sold on Sell on Etsy!
Have you tried other online apps for selling your goods or collectibles? I have and I'm writing this review because of my satisfaction with Sell on Etsy. There are many reasons so let me tell you my top few to highlight why I love this app.
1) Listing an item is formatted for you in a simple yet complete manner. Try 1-2 listings yourself and you will get what I mean.
The time you will save is a huge benefit.
2) You are encouraged to consider the time, talent and materials you have invested when setting your price on handcrafted pieces. This promotes an appreciation for your work and that of other artisans.
3) Etsy has a very established reputation for creators and collectors, therefore the buyers are expecting a quality product and expect to see prices that reasonably reflect the value.
Etsy is a great place for checking the market value of your pieces before buying or listing.
4) Account maintenance is quite detailed yet easy to understand with graphs and relevant statistics. I like the set price format as it requires less time to monitor listing expiration and renewal, selling price is established with no waiting for bidding to end, and you are not bogged down with extra busy work that is not necessary.
5) GREAT NEWS
The cost is minimal and the profit margin is increased as a result of reasonable fees.
Trust me as a longtime Etsy buyer I am now a happy seller too.
New update is horrible
Edit 6/3/17 It switched back to the horrible updated version. I will continue to delete and the download the app again as I cannot stand the new version. The info is all wrong on it. The old version has me showing hundreds of views and the new says I have eight. Come on Etsy...fix this. This is not beneficial to a shop owner.
Edit 6/2/17 By following the advice of others , I was able to get the app back to its old version by deleting it and reinstalling it. Thank you for allowing us to switch it back if we want to!
This app used to be so helpful but this new update is a complete mess. I used to run my business from this with ease and now I can't even see what items are being viewed without clicking through multiple screens. Definitely not good for those of us in a hurry. The new charts and statistics are not something that I find helpful at all. I'd give this zero stars if I could.
Preferred Previous Version
I've been using the Sell Etsy app for over 2 years and to be honest I preffered the older version. I think it was more simplistic. There are some perks (more in depth stats) to the new version however I like simplification in my life. One update I'd love to see in future would be to allow more production time for multiple orders. If one 8"x10" home illustration takes me 1-2 weeks to complete, someone ordering 2 or more should see an increased completion time. Also I'd love to see my sale count be for individual items (i.e. people ordering bulk). I sometimes sell 5 of my type of art at a time and it only counts for one sale. Just my feedback. Thanks!
