Come on! What part of HOME don’t you get?
Sengled smart bulbs are the best on the market but let’s talk about the essentials Home app. This app is nothing more than a setup tool that attempts to impersonate a control app. It is a great setup tool. Works 100% of the time! However, Sengled lost the opportunity to make it a mainstream cant live without it control app by limiting the very basic of feature! Evidentially, Sengled seems to think that homes in the US only have 7 rooms with maybe an 8th one that you will want to customize. That’s right, the app only supports a maximum of 8 scenes (room names). Excuse me, the average home in the US is 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. That’s 5 already. A four bedroom 3 bath home already maxed you out with one more custom scene.... let’s see, do I choose the kitchen, the living room, the dining room, the garage, the pantry, the laundry room, the front porch, the back porch, or any number of closets that may have lighting. Forget it if you have a game room, a mud room, or a theater... seems to me that Sengled contracted out the app development to either India or China, or some other country that have homes with a maximum of 8 rooms. I think if you’re going to energize Americans to automate their home and buy light bulbs to do so, you would enable more scenes in your app! Come on! Wake up and fix your app!
Waste of money
I’m tired of companies coming out with technology that is not seamless and easy to use. Worked at first even though the set up was way too involved. Then it stoped working once I got a new router. I followed the instructions and the help section and still couldn’t get it to connect to 2.4 wireless signal. Which is dumb that I can’t connect it to my 5 also, but I tried it anyway and it repeatedly would not connect after I tried multiple different things. I’m done with this distinctions, cumbersome technology that’s supposed to be easy to use and make life easier. This isn’t the 90’s it’s 2018. Get your act together technology companies.
So close yet still so pretty far...
Ex: I clicked on App Support first, hoping to give my feedback directly to Sengled, and got a 404 page does not exist. So there’s that, before I even get started.
App was a glitchy trying to get my 2 bulbs setup, not very intuitive when I wanted to add another scene.
Suggestion: can the brightness bar be adjusted to go from 1-100%, instead of 0-100%? It’s really hard to get it to stay on 1%, and we don’t really need a 0% on the slider since there is a big “OFF” button at the bottom of the page.
