What's New in Version 7.9.1
Just like our top-rated contractors, our 5-star pre-screened developers have done some great work to build a better experience. They’ve exterminated a few bugs, switched out some bulbs and cleaned up the appearance to improve our already best-in-class app.

So I used a contractor based on Home advisor's recommendation for a total bathroom remodel. I'm not sure if it was my lack of experience using the app, but I couldn't figure out how to do my own review of the contractor within the app. I found the app to be complicated and was unable to see any other reviews based on other peoples experiences like Angie's List. I assumed if home advisers was recommending this particular contractor they probably would do a good job and quality work. Unfortunately this was not my experience. The contractor was extremely unprofessional, went way beyond the original timeline and when it's your only shower in the house, it made it very inconvenient. There were also stages of the project where the quality of work was not what would be expected when hiring a contractor. I would recommend asking the contractor for referrals prior to hiring them.
In or Out Cleaning
I hired them to power wash my house. I asked the owner to come to my home so we could walk around the outside and decide what would be done. She gave me details and quoted a fair price. On work day, they showed up on time, got right to work, and did an excellent job. She walked around the house with me to be sure I was satisfied and went over an area which I felt needed more attention. I’ve received many compliments on the appearance of the house and one friend even asked if I had new siding. I will definitely recommend them to friends and hire them again without reservation.
Terrible app! They give out your contact info!
I hate this app. I was only perusing the vendors, but got phone calls anyway. I do not recall ever giving permission for Home Advisor to hand out my phone number willy nilly. I’ve also received a dozen or more unsolicited emails from HA, even though I only looked up a couple of contractors.
I also had a terrible experience with one of the contractors who called me. I looked up his website and thought they seemed like just what I was looking for: a conscientious yard cleanup service. But no! I asked him to come out and give me an estimate, but he refused to come on a Saturday or Sunday, which are the only days I have free. Many working people are only free on weekends and, therefore, it didn’t make sense that a yard service wouldn’t at least work on Saturdays.
I pressed him for a ballpark estimate over the phone—a range of typical pricing—and he quoted me an outrageous price just for one trip to the dump.
I complained to Home Advisor about the unsolicited phone calls and got a “we’re-so-sorry-if-you’re-an-idiot-who-didn’t-read-the-fine-print” type of response.
Home Advisor is an aggressive marketing scheme and nothing more. Delete this app!
