Sex Offender Search keeps your family protected by letting you know where sex offenders are in your neighborhood. This app uses the most up-to-date information from the National Sex Offender Registry.

When you register for an account, you’ll also get the option to subscribe to monthly offender report emails notifying you of new activity in your area. This extra feature is completely free and you can opt out at any time.

Not as up-to-date as it says.

I have couple of issues with this. To be honest, I downloaded it out of curiosity after one too many episodes of Law and Order: SVU.
First, there were pins close to where my parents live, so I looked at who it was. One lived in the same apartment building as my parents, so I asked my mother who works in their leasing office -- the person who was registered there according to this website didn't live there anymore according to their books and according to the sex offender registry, was living miles away for over two years. Up to date? No. Better off looking at the registry itself. You'll get more up to date information than this app will give you.
Second, I wasn't aware of the iPhone 4s supporting pop-up ads. When I used it, even when I "killed" the app by double clicking the home button and shutting it off, I was still getting ads at the top of my screen, almost as if they were texting me adverts. I had to delete it from my phone to make it stop.

Why must I create an account?

I'm sure this is a good app, but it forces you to create an account. In this age, we all have a million online accounts, usernames and passwords. While I understand that businesses want to compile data, I am simply not willing to create yet ANOTHER online account for something I just want to try out. I keep a list of all of my accounts with login information, and I have dozens of them. I'm sure I would like this app if I could just use it without creating an account and giving this company my email. Sorry... it's not worth it to me when I can just do an internet search for what I'm looking for without giving my personal information. My suggestion: allow users to access this without creating an account, and provide extra features and incentives for people who ARE willing to create an account. Some of us like to remain anonymous and aren't comfortable with tons of companies having our info.

Sex offenders app

Yo can you guys believe this like literally I live in the Houston area and when I downloaded just a sex offenders app I couldn't believe how many sex offenders are by you. Never know who they are I work at a grocery store and I probably see them every day. Which makes me think hmm, is everybody safe nowadays. Yes <------ this post is real from a guy who is saying facts. But I encourage people to get atleast a app to protect not just themselves but to protect family and friends. Because u may never know who is a sex offender. It could be 21yr old side serving your kids fried at a macdonalds fast food joint. But I rate this app absolutely 10 out 10 👍👍👍👍👏
