Sexual Healing is designed to help individuals and couples improve their sexuality. A comprehensive model of sexual health is used to do so. There are many factors that impact sexuality such as upbringing, spirituality, relationships, culture, etc. These 12 factors make up the sexually influential systems for each person and include body, mind, spirit/soul, emotions, past/future, society, culture/friends, religion/spirituality, attachment/safety, context, family-of-origin, and partner.
As you explore the various system factors that influence your sexuality you will find individually applicable activities within each of the 12 systems that require attention and growth for your sexuality. Reminders are used to implement action items for each activity you select. These reminders can be set daily, weekly, or monthly. Notes are used to track progress, thoughts, emotions, goals, revisions, roadblocks, things to talk to your partner or therapist about (if applicable), etc. Reminders and notes will serve as vital tools that foster accountability. Accountability and attentiveness being the main guideposts of the sexual health model.
Sexuality is influenced by more than the mere romantic relationship and therefore requires a comprehensive model of sexual health and healing. Sexual Healing facilitates such a model.
