Is it warm at Baker Beach? Should I wear layers in the Mission? SF Climates displays the weather in San Francisco's microclimates on a pocket-sized map of the City.
Find the current temperatures, conditions, wind speed and direction, and forecasts for 17 of San Francisco's neighborhoods, from Lake Merced to the Financial District and everywhere in between. Powered by Weather Underground, Inc.
Great start - needs improvement
I loved the idea, I moved from LA and I was always chasing the Sun in SF neighborhoods and actually thinking of developing something this but glad someone beat me to it!
Few improvements; 1) inclusion of 40 miles radius from the city, so that if it is weekend and I want to be somewhere sunny I can see if I should go to Santa Cruz or Oakland or Napa. 2) including the fog (right now everywhere seems partly cloudy, and I know Mission was sunny today, it can be more accurate/detailed) 3) giving approx times of how long it is anticipated to be sunny in the area
Good idea, a few improvements needed
Good app. Useful for anybody looking for the sun in SF. Two ideas to make it even better: 1. put the weather forecast in map view as well. It doesn't make sense to click on every neighborhood to see where the best weather will be. 2. Don't forget the fog. Sfgate has a good fog animation forecast for the next 24h. Can you add these two?
Wow, I am so excited that this exists. The weather reports that give one number, or even three, for SF are pathetic. It's great to have a more detailed picture of what temps are really like. I live in a mid zone so it can go either way from my house, now I can predict more accurately. I agree with a few other people that there are some holes, but it's a vast improvement over an average temp for the whole city.
