The official SF311 app for residents and visitors to San Francisco allows users to quickly and easily report quality of life issues by sending pictures, a brief description, and a map based location. Whether reporting issues such as graffiti, potholes, or street cleaning, the app will route requests directly to the appropriate servicing agency for quicker response time. The user can view the status of the case in the app and receive a notification of its completion.

It's a pacifier button, like the walk/don't walk buttons

Nothing is taken care of through this app. I know many neighbors and myself who report issues and the issue is closed almost within 24 hours with no resolution. So disappointing.

Just Call on the Phone

Two problems with this app.

First “Closed” means 311 sent it to the department which will take care of it. Maybe they will take care of it. Or, lately, they won’t

Second, the location feature is GPS based. So, often the location the app uses is off by a half block or so. It can’t be overwritten.

A phone call to 311 is probably just as useless. But with a phone call at least you can talk to a person who might care.

Some houses are exempt

the real siggy

Certain addresses are not reportable—no structure is shown on the map where there is definitely a house and the addresses skip right over. Needs to be fixed ASAP
