The official SF311 app for residents and visitors to San Francisco allows users to quickly and easily report quality of life issues by sending pictures, a brief description, and a map based location. Whether reporting issues such as graffiti, potholes, or street cleaning, the app will route requests directly to the appropriate servicing agency for quicker response time. The user can view the status of the case in the app and receive a notification of its completion.

This is a must have app if you live in San Francisco. They recently added the ability to report illegal parking which is rampant. Cars parked on sidewalks, blocking pedestrians. Cars parked in bike lanes. With this app, you snap a photo, upload it, and within minutes the city will write them a ticket and hopefully that person never parks illegally again.
Great app, highly recommend.
Why have an app if you can’t report MUNi?
The function of this app is very limited compared to the full range of things that SF311 actually covers. That you cant even provide a fast user friendly way to report problems with MUNi, the most complained thing about your service gets, is telling. Sometimes calling and sitting on hold isn’t an option. In this tech-central city, the app should be much better.
Just Call on the Phone
Two problems with this app. And one with the developer.
First “Closed” means 311 sent it to the department which will take care of it. Maybe they will take care of it. Or, lately, they won’t
Second, the location feature is GPS based. So, often the location the app uses is off by a half block or so. It can’t be overwritten.
A phone call to 311 is probably just as useless. But with a phone call at least you can talk to a person who might care.
There is a common thread to the problems when the app. It seems the developer is unable to fix the app? Or doesn’t care?
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
