SFA Stories

By University of Mississippi

This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.

The Southern Foodways Alliance, a member-supported organization at the University of Mississippi, presents SFA Stories. Our mission is to document, study, and celebrate the diverse food cultures of the changing American South. Oral histories are central to this mission.

Since the 2005 inception of our documentary initiative, we’ve collected hundreds of stories—about barbecue and boudin, tamales and tupelo honey. SFA Stories presents snapshots of our work. Use this app to browse by project or locate interviews with Geo Search. For full access to audio, video, and transcripts, visit where you can learn about our broader academic work and events.
