A shake-activated personal attack deterrent with screeching siren, flashing display and it sends out a help message giving your current location.
Sometimes we find ourselves in places where we don’t feel completely safe such as an unlit park or a locality with a rough reputation. Most of the time nothing bad happens - but wouldn’t it be nice to know that your phone provides you with an extra bit of protection?
Before going into a potentially unsafe area, switch on ShakeAlert. Now if you feel threatened by anyone, simply shake your iPhone/iPod Touch and a screeching siren will sound, the display will flash and an SMS/TEXT (if enabled) with a help request and your location will be sent to a person pre-selected by you.

What's New in Version 1.2
- improved the accuracy of your location in your (optional) emergency SMS (Text message)
- if you have the alarm armed and plug in a head set, it gives you a warning (to avoid hearing damage)
Really great idea but personally dont think the alarm is loud enough, have the volume on phone and in the settings on the app all the way up and can't even hear it in the next room. Also think there should be a phone call made instead of a text message. Most people don't hear text messages at 3 or 4 in the morning they would be more likely to hear a phone call.
