Great Adult Study Aid

Wow, few rates and reviews. Well, for my part I value this app very much.
To be able to connect with Shakespeare on the iPad is terrific. Of most value to me are the word translations that I can access with the touch of my finger. It makes the text, and therefore the play, more accessible and resonate with me. Also the explanations of medieval traditions, perspectives and outlooks help provide context for the action of the play and thus make it more engaging.
I think this is for High School students but anyone going to watch Shakespeare (in the Park and elsewhere!) couldn't do better.
I do like that it is broken down into small parts. It helps me focus and understand the different Acts and scenes more completely and intimately. I can also stop and pick up the play's thread more easily when my day and week gets too busy.
The animation with the actor's voices provide another level of engagement, context and experience. You can run through the entire play that way. I think we all have to admit there is little better to watch or read than connect with Shakespeare's Canon.
Put down the remote and pick up some Bits of the Bard!

A fun tool to understand and appreciate Shakespeare

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Romeo and Juliet (the 1968 film version by Franco Zeffirelli) while using this app to get a clear understanding of the storyline, the times and the language of Shakespeare. This app is fun, thorough, and easy-to-use, allowing you to explore different sections of the play from various perspectives. You can delve into details of the play, or the techniques used by Shakespeare, as deeply as you want without ever feeling overwhelmed by complexity or boredom. Excellent! Wish I'd had this iPad & app technology when I was in high school. It's never too late, enjoy!

My high school students absolutely love this literature app. The only issue keeping it from earning five stars in my book is the fact that subtitles cannot be displayed in full screen mode. The videos make the story come to life. The summaries are a great pre-reading tool. One of my favorite features is the word highlighting. Students can click on Shakespearian words or phrases and have alternative words displayed to aid comprehension.

Again... Please work on getting the subtitles to show in full screen mode. This would drastically help your clients who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
