And don't worry if you have no internet connection, this data is all available offline.
If this isn't enough info and you have a 3G/4G or Wifi connection, you can view an individual stop or the whole route on a map.
Search by line name or number to view the stops on the buses route.
Search by stop name to view bus lines available at that stop.
Shanghai Stops integrates with your device's GPS, providing the closest bus and stop information. View nearby buses and stops in both list form and visually on a map in relation to your current location. Shanghai Stops will tell you the distance and your GPS accuracy.

Excellent app with a few problems
This is by far the best English and Chinese bus app for Shanghai. Buses are fast and cheap, often 2Yuen. Much cheaper than subway.
A few bugs need to be fixed:
-Sometimes locks up my iPhone 5 and I have to wait for app to auto stop (I don't need to reboot though). This frequently happens after switching out of the app and back on again. Please fix this.
-Location function is also not good. My location is often wrong by more than 500meters. I leave wifi and 3G on but still not ok. please fix. (App says accuracy is about 100m).
Additional requests that would be great:
- selectable bus stops directly from the map. This will help if the position is wrong.
-Mark the map with bookmarks/push pins
-from here to home or work (saved location)
-add to favorites list
-recent search list
-show current position to destination as a distance and time by bus
- function for bus stop routing. Find best path for me
- search by landmarks or famous places
-alarm function or pop up message to wake me when bus approaches my stop. I have this in Korea.
-Korea also has live bus tracking and I hope the Chinese government provides that data eventually
Great work so far!! Good design as well.
Still the only effective Shanghai bus app
Shanghai has a marvelous but complex bus system. However, the city lacks a citywide bus map, in English or Chinese. This app shows you the each bus route in English and a very helpful overlay of be bus routes onto Google Maps. At first the Google Maps display within the bus app didn't work for me because of the "Great Firewall" but beginning about a month ago it started to work and has worked ever since. (The regular Google Maps app still is firewalled).
This app really helps my life in Shanghai as a "waiguoren".
This app is really great. Makes the daunting bus system of shanghai accessible. Would like to see a function where you can plan a route with your starting point and destination point and the app would suggest which buses to take. This would really be useful for someone unfamiliar with the city.
