Personalized to You:
Shapa analyzes your unique personality, preferences, environment, habits and lifestyle. As a result, your Shapa apps recommends personalized activities called Missions that are right for YOU.

Shapa Color and Shapa Age: These are better feedback mechanisms to replace seeing your weight. As you progress, you should see your Shapa Color and Shapa Age improve!

Missions: These are small, simple actions that are personalized to you.
Start Over: If the system has found that you haven’t used the Shapa over a certain period of time, you can “reset” your progress.

Vacation Mode: You can pause so as not to affect/disturb your progress over time. But some people in our tests are actually traveling with their Shapa.

Shapa Streak: Every time you step on the Shapa, it tracks your ongoing streak.

Community: Invite people to Shapa, share your progress

Amazon Alexa: Get your Alexa to read out your daily Missions.

What’s New?

- Progress Review Screen: See short- and long-term weigh-ins, historical Missions progress, and your starting weight from when you first stepped onto Shapa. You can also compare your current weight to your starting weight.
- Shapa Now Sends Your Health Data to Apple HealthKit: Previously, we could receive HealthKit data to provide better feedback to you. Now, we can send data (e.g., weight, BMI) to HealthKit so you have a more comprehensive experience on your journey to living healthier.
- Vacation is All We Ever Wanted: We’ve greatly improved vacation mode! A vacation icon (a person lounging under a palm tree) now appears instead of feet when you’re on vacation. And, your weigh-in streaks are now correctly preserved based on all of your past vacations.
- Bug Fixes: We hunted down several bugs, and squashed them.

Total Disappointment


While the previous version of the app stayed true to the company commitment to stay away from actual weight in terms of lbs as a metric, this version includes weight as a number. This is ridiculous and disappointing, especially since there are so many other ways to display progress without using literal weight in pounds. The company will say that there is an option to turn this new feature off but its existence, and how the app writes daily weight to Apple Health, completely defeats the purpose of selling a “weight free” scale. It literally is no longer truly numbers free. Even worse, the “missions” you are given include typos that should be caught by simple proofreading and are generally of little benefit given the cost paid for the associated AI capability. “Missions” to do things like avoid fried food for a week or send a silly selfie to a friend certainly aren’t remotely innovative. This app and associated scale provide no benefit that a regular $10 scale combined with a google sheet, a few formulas, and some math couldn’t for significantly less money. This has become a colossal waste of money.

Getting the hang of it...


I was (finally) able to log into my account. Currently stepping on scale twice a day to obtain my color (and get directions on reaching my goal). So far, so good - four stars because I’m not sure what the next steps are...

This app is based on your progress and not on your weight. App does analyze your habits, life style and then start suggesting what you need to do. All new way to get back on track.
