Used to be a good app.....not anymore
I used to love this app! I have been using it for quite some time now. I used to look forward to where I could go to get the large walk-in kicks. Those are very scarce nowadays. There used to be free kicks in the app within the look books, but those have disappeared. The app used to recognize my credit card being used at participating stores and give me kicks for purchases. That has stopped. Now I have to submit my receipt and I always get an error on those and have to re-scan the receipt 50 times (not really, but at least a few times) and it never seems to take the receipt before my time runs out to get those kicks. Most of my friends and family have deleted the app and I am leaning towards that myself. I think I am uninstalling now. I am tired of the notifications and the issue with not being able to get enough kicks to attain anything. Obviously the app has no intentions of changing back to the better days and doesn't care that people are bailing on it. Also, many of the reviews that are 5 stars looks like they have been staged.....not classy at all. Bye!
I was really excited about this app when I first started using it. Now that I have used it for more than a month I am not quite as enthusiastic about it. I think I would earn more points if I linked my credit card but I am too skeptical to do that. I don't like to link my credit card to anything. The items you can scan with a barcode are not many and they don't change that much. There are a few stores that I can get kicks at by walking in that I go to but most of the stores listed here are not stores I regularly visit. So far the special offers that I've seen that interest me are the same ones I'm already getting in email. Eventually I'm sure I will earn enough points for a five dollar gift card but it's going to be a while. Not that I expect it to be easy but I would hope I could do it in under a year. At the current rate it'll probably take that long.
A lot of work for little return
This app is nice. You might as well grab some points if you're going shopping anyway, but it takes a LOT of scanning to get anything. 500 points gets you a $2 gift card. Pet peeve: if you don't have good service and scan some barcodes and are told you will get the points when reception improves, they only give you credit for one of those scans. My other bad experience was spending over 2500 points on a gift card only to be sent the wrong one. Seriously, I clicked on the American Eagle icon, picked the denomination I wanted, confirmed it carefully, and was sent a Marshalls card. They said it was my fault and to be more careful next time. Not cool.
