I have used this app for about a month. I have done walk-ins, scans and kickbates. You need to follow the instructions regarding opening the store walk-in button when you walk into the store and I turn off my wifi so that the store's wifi doesn't interfere. Even then, I have had a couple of occasions when there was a delay before the walk-in kicks opened or had to get the walk-in kicks as I exited the store. You are also limited each month on the number of walk-in kicks you can earn at a given store.
The scans of products is easy and once you find a product at one store, you can't go to another store and scan the same product so you need to plan where you can go to get the most kicks in one visit. The kickbates have been reviewed and credited to my account the same day usually within the hour of submission. I was able to claim my first gift card today (I could of claimed a smaller amount earlier). The reward came immediately after I claimed it instead of days later as is the case with some apps. There is a drain on the battery and you do have the constant location on/off issue that other reviewers have mentioned. These issues are present in other similar apps. Since I turn off wifi when using the app, I am using some of my data plan also.
We truly enjoy this app. No videos to watch, surveys are optional. We use it all the time. I'd say there is only a few draw backs though: 1) sometimes the app will show walk-ins but once you walk in, you get a message saying 'there are no walk-ins for this store today'; 2) there are items you cannot find in any store such as wine or a certain magazine. TN has not yet started selling wine in grocery stores. 3) the Kick-Bates should be shown in pick in the store listing to differentiate the difference between scan kicks and kick-bates as they do once you open that store. However, these issues are ones we can deal with, they are not anything to make us want to stop using it.
Location Access - Always or Never?
I love this app, but don't use it as much as I could because....the only two options for the app's location access is Always (which means it's always accessing your location in the background = creepy and battery drain) or Never (which means it doesn't work). How about a Location Access that only activates when I start up the app and shuts off when I turn it off? If it had that, I would totally use it ALL THE TIME. Now, I have to go into settings, turn the location access to Always, use it in store, and go back to location settings and switch it to Never when I leave. Most of the time not worth the trouble. Will give 5 stars when this is fixed!
