Description

Show of Hands is a smart and fun community polling platform for people who love to ask questions and learn how other people think! As one of the oldest apps on the App Store, now in our 14th year, we have a loyal community of opinionated users who debate with each other daily on just about any topic you can imagine. You can answer new questions daily and see instant, real-time, anonymous results from fellow brilliant minds around the country. This information is broken down by age, religion, income, political party, gender, and more! (You can just think of us as your national level town hall.)

We ask the tough questions so that you can anonymously debate real world issues, and we ask the lighter questions because sometimes the heavy stuff can get exhausting, ya know? Nothing is off limits, and our community will help you level up your brain!

Do YOU have questions!? Have you ever been having drinks with friends-- or even just around the water cooler with coworkers-- and gotten their opinions and comments on something? Do you ever feel like their vote is just plain wrong?! (There’s NO WAY that more people like chunky peanut butter, is there?!) Build an anonymous Show of Hands following and publish your own polls to test if your opinion is in the majority! Ask your own questions about politics, ethics, pop-culture, humor, sports, health, news-- or anything else your brain can think of!

We challenge you to question everything!

Some thing really frustrating

I think this all is great. It is fun interactive and makes you really think. I do however believe something’s could be different. You can not post for 48 hours after you sign up or comment. It takes the fun out of the app from the get go. The character restraints while irritating really do not bother me until I get to messaging. I’m not sure the reason for the limit but it irritates me to no end and there is no counter to tell you when you are ending. And the last thing you can be typing a response and a notification come up from the app and your comment you were typing is just gone. To lower my irritations I began typing in notes then transferring being aware of the character count. And the last thing of you make a typo on a question you wrote there is no way to correct it. I will say that even with these inconveniences I still use is daily and I look forward to comments. It’s a great app overall just some things that bother “me”. Thanks. Enjoy.

One of my favorite apps!! Have a few suggestions :)

First off, this app is pretty amazing! It’s very informative and helps answer my own random questions as well. It would be cool to get more users so the results could be even more accurate but even 2-3 thousand votes on something tells a lot. I use this app just about every day and have learned some cool stuff! Some updates I would love to see are the ability to delete or edit comments, and to be able to turn off notifications for a thread you comment on. I ask for that because of a recent situation where an argument was going on in a thread and I posted a neutral comment like “there’s no point in arguing this..” but now my notification page has been filled with their ongoing debate for almost a week. Also, the ability to filter language (swearing) I don’t want to see would be cool. Overall it’s one of the best and most underrated apps in the store, great work!

Lower quality over time

This app used to one of my favorites, and an excellent source of debatable questions to discuss with family friends. Trying to guess what % of respondents will say what is always a fun game to play. However, the app has slowly turned into just another social media platform. Many questions no longer have two actual answers, and are rather just "let's discuss THIS, are you participating or passing?" That's not what I come to this app for. And lately it is an endless, unavoidable stream of polls just comparing people's pet photos. I miss the consistent source of genuine this-or-that polls of different political and social topics; that's what made this app popular in the first place, and why I used to love it.
