Lions! Pandas! Naked mole rats? Come visit them all at Smithsonian’s National Zoo. We are on the lookout for animals that are swimming, running, wiggling, and stomping. Grab a camera and take some pictures of animals on the move!

Designed for the home and classroom by the Smithsonian Science Education Center and Filament Games, this game teaches students how to describe movement and motion while visiting rare animals at the Smithsonian National Zoological Park. Each animal has coloring-page printouts, so you can print and color your favorite critter.

Shutterbugs is a fun vocabulary game that focuses on verb comprehension but also integrates nouns, such as the names of animals found in the zoo. Three different profiles can made and saved. Once a user correctly identifies the animal that is performing the target verb three times, that verb (and animal) will be placed in an album. A chart can be printed to show which verbs the user is currently working on, showing progress on, and the ones that have been mastered. Pretty cute app and quite useful for some core vocabulary and auditory comprehension. Printables are also available for reinforcement and/or rewards. Definitly would recommend purchasing this app!

My 2 year old loves this app but it's constantly crashing over and over. I have a first generation ipad and I have uninstalled &reinstalled app a couple of times. We are very disappointed.

Fantastic kid-friendly app!

This is fantastic app, which takes your child on an awesome journey through the zoo! With fun animation, and narration throughout the app, kids will learn animal facts, learn to identify different animals, plus hey will learn many action verbs as well. The entire way, they are guided by a friendly zookeeper. Children are asked which animal is rolling, nodding, running etc, and when they choose the correct answer the app takes a pretend picture of that animal. There is also a reward system to keep kids encouraged as well. There are no social links, IAPs or ads in this app. I highly recommend it!
