Ratings and Reviews
It's undeniably a beautiful app. But they advertise that there are two clown fish in the bonus scene. My guess is you have to pay for the in app purchase to get the other fish. Regardless, it's still pretty cool, even with only one clown fish. My biggest gripe however is the floating add for the Pet Store. You just don't need it. The controls provide access to the store with the "fish +" symbol. And it's just plain annoying. It certainly detracts from the overall effect of the scene, and unfortunately winds up sending me to the Pet Store so often that it actually sort of ticks me off. It also makes it worse that every time I accidentally trip over the annoying detour to the Pet Store, and I try leave the Pet Store, I get asked if I need any help, as though I became so confused that I just gave up, and need help to finish my purchase. None of it makes any sense, it's a beautiful app, with controls that are slick, and unobtrusive. And then they plop that giant floating annoyance right in our face. While they have clearly tried to make it not look so much like an add, by having it sort of float like its in the water, it's still an add, and its still annoying. But other than that, I think they've done a great job.
Best Fish Rendering So Far
The main thing I like about the fish in this app is that the fish's mouths and eyes move, which give them a more life like appearance. I haven't found another app which gives the fish such a life like appearance. That being said, it would be nice to have more choices. The fish in this app are, well, fish, there aren't any jellyfish, sharks, stingrays, crabs, lobsters, shirmp, starfish. And, I think the fish all look too much alike. Also, only one static background scene is included. Once you buy the full version (come on people, don't expect the full version for nothing), the advertisement disappears.
Nice, it's okay.
The fish don't really move to a 3D environment but rather appear to be swimming toward or away from items in the aquarium, but, they never reach the elements further away, always to turn around staying in front of those elements. Mehhhh 2D with a 3D imitation. Think "moonwalk". ...not really going anywhere.
