Simplenote is an easy way to keep notes, lists, ideas and more. Your notes stay in sync with all your devices for free.
The Simplenote experience is all about speed and efficiency. Open it, write some thoughts, and you're done. As your collection of notes grows, you can search them instantly and keep them organized with tags and pins. You can also share notes and publish them for other people.
The best way to learn about Simplenote is to try it. You'll be asked to create an account. This allows your notes to be backed up online and synchronized automatically.
After you sign up, try creating some notes! Then go to simplenote.com to download Simplenote for your other devices.

If I wasn’t already married...
…then I’d propose to Simplenote. Where has this app been hiding?! So, I am actively engaged in a get-my-life-together thing, organizing and prioritizing through all areas of my life. Today I opened up Evernote because I wanted to use it across my Macbook Pro, my iPad, and my iPhone. But then I get this message that Evernote will only allow two devices at once for a Basic account. Um. No. I hit up the old Google and typed in “alternatives to Evernote” and found a listicle that mentioned this app, Simplenote. I have been using it for all of about fifteen minutes and I love it. Thank you, genius geek(s) who made this. It’s free. It’s immediately intuitive. It works. It’s free of a cumbersome and heavy interface. It’s easy to use. Did I mention this brilliant thing is FREE? My word… I just needed ONE app to sync across three devices which this does amazingly fast. I mean, I have my Macbook open and I can watch it sync/update on my iPad next to me. Maybe this is magic? Scorcery? I don’t even care right now. I never write reviews, but this app deserves a high-five. If you could high-five an app. Which would be awesome in this case.
Great! Looking forward to Markdown on OSX
Markdown support is available now on iOS and Web versions of Simplenote, and I think this is wonderful. I’m hoping this feature will be added to the Mac desktop app soon too!
In the past, I’ve noticed duplicate tags would be created when I create/delete tags from the desktop app and am not sure whether this bug has been fixed in the most recent update. However, this is only a minor issue for me personally and to work around it, I’ll update and organize my tags on the Web app: it would be nice to have seamless syncing through all the apps though. I don’t seem to run into this problem on iOS.
Keep up the great work!
Best note app I’ve ever used since 1996‼️‼️
Best note app I’ve ever used since 1996‼️‼️ For me, there is no downside to this program. So simple, so elegant, and it saves everything automatically‼️ It never gets in the way; you can publish your notes, send them to email, share with others, I could go on and on about this app. Cheers to the developer(s)‼️
Thanks for sharing this useful, and wonderful program with us‼️
