Snap parts together to build your airplane's body. Place engines to add thrust. Design the wings, and then strap yourself into the cockpit and see how it flies.
You will have the tools to bring any aircraft to life. Design your own wings, shape the fuselage, customize propeller engines, and more.
A thriving community of players are creating next-generation fighters, WW2 warbirds, civilian aircraft, and everything in between. There are well over 50,000 airplanes and they are all free to download and fly. You can share your own airplanes and rise through the ranks to become a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Builder.
DYNAMIC FLIGHT MODEL
Every change you make in the designer impacts how the airplane flies. Weight, thrust, lift, and drag are all calculated continuously while flying.
Parts can break off in spectacular fashion while flying due to over-stress or by hitting something. The fun won't stop there though. You can keep on flying even with a missing wing if you've got the skills...the flight model updates in realtime to accurately simulate any damage to your airplane's structure.
So, you've had a rough landing and the left engine was knocked off? After watching the engine fly off into the sunset you may decide to go ahead and slap the throttle to full...and give it another go with only one engine. This is what sandbox mode was made for... test your airplane with no restrictions.
Land on aircraft carriers, dodge surface-to-air missiles, race through canyons, and much more.
Create airplanes that can take-off and land in the water, as well as fully functional boats complete with underwater rudders and keels for control and stability.
Tutorials will help players learn the basics of real airplane design and the considerations that need to be taken when airplanes are made.
What's New in Version 1.5.3
* Fixed Everyplay popup window
* AA Tanks now have a little spread to their bullets.
* Fixed a bug with the targeting system that could cause it to spam errors in certain situations.
* Fixed an issue where an invalid subassembly file would prevent the designer from loading properly.
Challenging and realistic, but a little pricey
A little context:
I've tried many flight simulators before and we loved them. Unfortunately many were to easy and if they did have hard challenges, there were only a couple.
In this game the opportunities are endless, while the game features challenges and races(all of which are very difficult) I consider the bulk of the game to be
1. Building the fastest, coolest and most efficient plane
2. Exploring and taking on your own challenges based on the terrain, heck there is a whole island filled with racetracks jumps and other cool toys.
3. Trying out new styles of planes, thinking out of the box to solve problems, and coming up with your own ideas
I've been playing this game for a little over a week now and it has already illustrated it's use as a launchpad to a plethora of creations.
Thanks to the simple physics team for bringing us this great game, I could see this growing into something much bigger. If you could add more islands, specifically with special themes, include more aircraft carriers and expand the compatibility and options for controlling special parts of your plane, if you could add more ways to control it that would be great.
PS: could you update the control and weapons menu at the bottom of you r screen when flying, maybe make the weapon and activation group selection more intuitive. Thanks
Love the game and suggestions
I love the game! It's easy to work with the parts, fly around and the challenges are a little challenging but fun. My first suggestion is to add cable for the carriers and add hook for landing on planes. It will give more experience but will be a little challenging. Second one is add where there can be two pr more planes on sandbox mode. My reason is to test land vehicles, ships or planes to see the durability of them or shoot the others for the fun of it. My last one is make where the parts have a higher durability or lower. Have where the player has the ability to change how durable the parts are. Like for example the B-17 Flying Fortress. It is made of steel on the wings and body. When they get shot at the wings they get damaged but do not come off unless it is critically damaged. I hope you know what I mean. Anyways I like the game it has a lots of fun and keep up the work and pace.
Good but improvements are needed
This game is probably the best one out there and by Fay my favorite. The way they made it so you can actually download planes is amazing and other free flight simulators would make you pay to use another vehicle this one it's a one time price (a little on the high side) but the only problem I see with the game is the fact you can't download mods on iOS so this means some planes that use an item from a mod cannot be downloaded but those situations are rare but it would be great to actually download mods other than that the game is awesome and worth every penny
