Design your own rocket ships. Blast off into space. Explore the solar system. See if you have what it takes to be a rocket scientist.
Choose and connect parts together to build rocket ships. You can choose from a variety of rocket engines, fuel tanks, and other gizmos. You can even build rovers with powered wheels. You are only limited by your imagination.
Blast off from any planet you want. You can fly through the intense atmosphere of Venus, or you can take advantage of the low gravity of Mercury. Whip around the sun and launch yourself out to the far reaches of the solar system.
Several challenges are built into the game so you can compete with other humans from around the world to see who can go the fastest, fly the farthest, orbit with the least amount of fuel, land on the moon, and so much more.
Kepler wrote the equations 400 years ago, and SimpleRockets uses those equations to model extremely realistic orbital physics. Players will learn about rocket science and astrodynamics while they are having a blast exploring the solar system. This makes SimpleRockets ideal for the classroom, or as a healthy alternative to the barrage of brainless games available on the App Store.
* Realistic rocket physics and orbital physics
* Sandbox mode
* Email your rocket to friends
What's New in Version 1.5.6

[Update] Much better after patch.
The dev patched the game pretty quickly and it's very playable now. The main update has a lot of new components like satellite parts, solar panels, struts and much more that make constructing your rocket a lot more fun. It also gives you something to do when you get to wherever you go. You can drop a rover on Smars, create a Moon base of sorts or even create a space station. The skins are an in-app purchase, but they're really pretty slick looking and they look a lot better than the stock stuff.
I still have a couple of gripes, though. Rocket parts still seem to separate and become unstable. It's difficult to create a large rocket that can do any serious lifting, things tend to shake apart and you wind up raining down rocket parts. Lastly, it's really hard to plan how to get somewhere, there's no good way to plan a launch from A to B because you don't know when to time it or what path to fly in order to use the least fuel. I wish there were some way to figure out how to navigate better.
Otherwise, it's a really fun and challenging game. I enjoy tinkering and building different rocket designs, it's also a real challenge to dock or make your way to another planet. That requires luck and a lot of time.
A great game, can't beat the price. Definitely recommend.
Simple: It's amazing!
This game is fantastic! I've been playing it for months and months and it has continued to entertain me! The new update is loads of fun and I have only a few issues with the game, all of which are negligible. If I could add anything to the game I would add some uses for the solar panels and add a little diversity to the planet surfaces...perhaps add a few unique features such as rivers, tall mountains, and deep steep gorges to each planet. This game is worth every bit of its cost and is certainly a better value than the 'high end' games like infinity blade.
On a somewhat hilarious side note, I found by accident that a hilarious use for the solar panels is their potential to be used as bumpers for the satellites...saved my refueling station once already!
It's an amazing app for those who want to mess around in space. It has quite the handful of challenges, which can be replayed to sharpen skill. With the addition of satellite parts, this game is very fun. You can even build a car to drive around ANY PLANET. I've done it, and with the addition of docking at refueling,I find myself building trains. A lot.
The only downside is that to dock with a satellite you launched into orbit, you need to be precise. Exactly precise. One small centimeter off and your satellite and rocket crash down to the planet. Or you simply miss satellite. Other than that I love it!!! Totally worth a buy!
