Be sure to check our new game, SimplePlanes. Build airplanes and test them with realistic physics and see how they fly. You can find it on the App Store now or check out the website at http://www.SimplePlanes.com
Design your own rocket ships. Blast off into space. Explore the solar system. See if you have what it takes to be a rocket scientist.
Choose and connect parts together to build rocket ships. You can choose from a variety of rocket engines, fuel tanks, and other gizmos. You can even build rovers with powered wheels. You are only limited by your imagination.
Blast off from any planet you want. You can fly through the intense atmosphere of Venus, or you can take advantage of the low gravity of Mercury. Whip around the sun and launch yourself out to the far reaches of the solar system.
Several challenges are built into the game so you can see who can go the fastest, fly the farthest, orbit with the least amount of fuel, land on the moon, and so much more.
Kepler wrote the equations 400 years ago, and SimpleRockets uses those equations to model extremely realistic orbital physics. Players will learn about rocket science and astrodynamics while they are having a blast exploring the solar system. This makes SimpleRockets ideal for the classroom, or as a healthy alternative to the barrage of brainless games available on the App Store.
What's New in Version 1.6.10
* Fixed a bug where the rocket skins weren't showing up
* Fixed a bug that caused ship save files to disappear when they had a period in their name
The orbital mechanics are quite fun to mess around with and the spacecraft designs are pretty cool, but one thing I really don't like is how you can't stack certain parts on top of others. For example if you wanted to do an Apollo style mission, you really can't make it realistic because you can't stack a docking port for some reason so you have to put in on the side which makes it look kinda dumb.
Also something that irks me (even though you can't change it) is the 2-D world and how planet rotation is not taken into account because it is a top-view of the S(m)olar System. It also makes it so you have to cram stuff onto your main craft.
You should make it able to have in-line docking ports and plugs as well as being able to put stuff on the outside of the RCS thrusters and solar panels (like struts so it kinda looks like a fairing.) Also some kind of fairing system would be nice to add some type of atmospheric stability and maybe some fins as well so you don't have to use RCS in atmo. I think these should be easy to implement since you can stack other parts in-line and I would really think they would improve the game.
I hope you read this because it would really make this game if these were to be added. Other than the suggestions it is a great game and has the potential to be the Kerbal Space Program IOS equivalent.
First off I want to say this is a brilliant game based off of Kerbel Space Program. (Both are amazing) The only problem is that there is no objective after the missions like for example: I get something to orbit the Smoon right? Well there are no scientific equipment you can add so there's nothing you can really do. If they added let's say... Idk a barometer? Thermometer? Maybe some camera type thing with communication antennas so you could transfer data. But other than that this game is amazing!
This is one of the best simulation games I've ever played and I have some ideas that might make it better. Maybe you could add reentry effects, it doesn't have to be fancy just to make it look cool. Also, maybe you could add fairings so the rocket doesn't break as much. One last thing you could add is a career mode. These are just suggestions that I wanted you guys to see. Keep up the fantastic work.
