The SimpliSafe Home Security iPhone and iPad app lets you control your SimpliSafe security system and watch live video of your home from anywhere in the world.

Please Note: To use this app you must have a SimpliSafe2 system. The remote management features require that you subscribe to our Interactive (online command) monitoring plan. Video features require a SimpliSafe camera and a basic monitoring plan.

With the SimpliSafe iPhone App, you can:

• See what’s going on in your home—at any time. Live stream crystal clear HD footage straight from your SimpliSafe security camera to your iPhone or iPad.

• Watch and download recorded video clips.

• Forgot to arm your system? Arm or disarm from anywhere with the push of a button.

• Know when your family gets home. This app will tell you anytime someone has entered and disarmed your security system, and you can watch recorded event clips.

• Avoid damage from leaks and/or floods, with water sensor alerts right on your phone.

• Prevent burst pipes with temperature monitoring of your home (or homes).

• Keep an eye on the babysitter, pet sitter, gardener, or house cleaner. Your app’s event log will identify who’s entering your home and when.

• Monitor access to sensitive areas of your home like medicine and alcohol cabinets, gun safes and your master bedroom closet, by viewing app event log and watching stored clips.

Easy Install

Bill the Clock Guy

I am a 65 year old female who lives alone except for my dog. She only weighs 12 pounds so I couldn’t put much stock in her ability to stop a break in. I ordered the SimpliSafe system with 4 entry sensors, 2 motion sensors, and added the camera. Installation was not difficult and I was able to have the entire system installed and up and running in a relatively short period of time. I had a minor amount of difficulty getting the camera online but the support staff were exceptionally helpful.

This system has given me a tremendous feeling of security. I can easily set it to on/home at night and rest easy knowing that my home is secure. When I am away I can fully arm the system and be confident that my small dog is not going to trigger the system.

If you are looking for an affordable and easy to install system, look no further. With the 24/7 monitoring I know that I am much safer. I particularly like the ability to arm, disarm, or get a live camera view of my living room by using the SimpliSafe app on my phone.

Great system, Good App, Decent Support


Simplisafe has proven to be a pretty fantastic purchase for us. All the bad reviews you see about base stations not communicating probably have something to do with environmental factors and/or old hardware.

We just upgraded to the new Simplisafe hardware and all issues that we had are completely gone. We have a larger home so the old equipment would go in and out of sync sometimes, due to hardware limitations, and status changes in the app would take a while to push.

With the new Simplisafe, which now has wifi capabilities, all actions taken in the app happen almost instantly, and all of the sensors are constantly connected on a multi-level 3500sq ft home. Our base station is on the main floor and we have sensor upstairs and in the basement, and all stay connected and are recognized by the base station the moment their status changes.

I would only recommend the old Simplisafe to people in homes less than 2,000 sq ft, and you always have to take into account your environment. You may want to consult with a friendly tech guru when it comes to installing so that you have realistic expectations about your setup. I work in tech and understand the pitfalls of wireless communications. Sometimes your environment needs some tweaking in order to make things work properly. As for the software and new hardware, Simplisafe gets an A+ from me.

App no longer works


Starting Friday the 22nd I was no longer able to use the app to arm or disarm my system & I stopped getting text alerts. I have been very happy with SimpliSafe & the app until now. I am extremely frustrated that all of a sudden things started to fall apart. I don’t know if this an app problem or a SimpliSafe problem but I hope it gets fixed ASAP. I don’t want to have to get rid of this alarm system. If no comment go unnoticed as I have just read in a response to a previous review, please let me know if this problem will ever be fixed. I have called customer support twice, sent a email & posted a review here. I am beyond frustrated.
Well here I am again with yet another problem. I logged into the app this evening, went to alert settings & noticed that my email needed to be verified. After doing this I am still not getting email notifications. I am so frustrated with this app & equipment problems I am ready to get rid of SimpliSafe. Please people fix these problems. I pay extra to have these notifications sent. I’m feeling really stupid at this point. What was I thinking?!!!
