Singing Fingers HD
By Beginner's Mind
This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.
Singing Fingers lets you fingerpaint with sound. Just touch the screen while you make a sound, and colorful paint appears. Touch the paint to play back the sound again!
You can paint your own musical instrument and play it, play with your voice, experiment with sounds, or create whatever else you can imagine.
Singing Fingers comes with help screens to get you started, examples to inspire you, and the ability to save and load your creations.
New for the iPad version:
* Improved Sound! Rewritten granular synthesis engine provides smoother, more lifelike output
* Improved Colors! A new pitch tracking algorithm can tell what note you're singing. The same note in different octaves should give the same color. Sing a scale to get a rainbow.
Singing fingers is a hit!
I was frustrated when I downloaded this game because it wouldn't work when we tried to sing. I emailed the developer and he responded right away. I needed to go to settings, then privacy and turn on the microphone for the game. Apparently I didn't click allow app to use mic. I'm on autopilot when an app asks to allow, cuz they usually ask for location or contacts. If your app isn't responding, do what I did and you should be ok.
I love this game and so do my grandkids. They love to sing and this makes singing even more fun. The sound is a bit scratchy, but we don't care. It's so much fun!
Innovative with a few tweaks
Wonderful concept to capture sounds mobile and creatively, how ever sound input could be better, get a rough version of actual recording. You news to be very loud to get a good recording. Would love to be able to have an eraser tool to eliminate parts of a recording or an undo function. Looking forward to this app developing further.
Please Fix Sound Quality
I am a K-4 music educator and my students love using this app for vocal exploration. However, the sound quality on playback is very poor. It sounds mechanical and garbled a bit. Please improve the sound quality so students can hear the true quality of their voices.
