Skeebus is a macOS app that displays your current public IP address in the menu bar, along with a country flag to the right of the address. The app uses GeoIP services to provide country, region, city, postal code, latitude/longitude, and ISP information. You can even click the lat/long coordinates to plot the location on a map. Skeebus has now been updated to also include IP addresses for local interfaces, providing you with even more information!
If Skeebus is unable to contact the GeoIP provider, it will fall back to another provider and determine your IP address without the GeoIP information. The app does not periodically contact either provider to update your address, rather it automatically updates any time an interface state changes (a cable is plugged in/unplugged, wireless is connected/disconnected, a VPN is connected/disconnected, etc.). You can also manually refresh the data at any point.
- Now includes IP addresses for local interfaces!
- Improved layout
- Minor bug fixes and performance improvements

Great, but needs refresh settings
This app works pretty well, except that it doesn’t refresh when your IP changes, and you have to manually refresh. Sometimes on startup, it starts off as offline until you refresh it. Seems like a simple refresh interval setting would solve these problems.
I tried a few of these apps and this works the best. Unobtusive. Has a refresh button (so I dont know what everybodys complaining about) but rarely use it as it updates lickity-split on IP change.
Should be 5 stars
I agree about the response for the program to refresh on start up. I constantly have to refresh every time i reboot. It is quite frustrating as it should be happening automatically like it is supposed to do.
As a result, I downloaded an additional free app to run on startup to verify as well.
Resolve this issue and I’d give it 5 star review.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
