I love it, but...

Firstly, I would like to differentiate between the application, and its content (the SAB):
I’ve wanted to attain a copy of the SAB for a while (in any form), so I am very happy that there is now an app. I encountered one minor bug while using the app; the icons near the top of the display did not work, until I pulled the control center half way and closed it. It’s minor bug that I can live with. My real concern with this app; I was discouraged when I learned that the SAB annotates the King James version of the Bible. The KJV of the Bible is widely regarded by Christian theologians as a poor translation. It’s perfect for refuting the literal, uneducated, simplistic, and blatantly idiotic interpretations of the Bible endorsed by Christian creationists, fundamentalists, and literalists; however, it does little good (there are still many terrible things that every translation says) when arguing against real theologians (who understand what metaphors are). All they need to say is, “that’s a bad translation, I don’t use that version.” I would recommend this app to all of my skeptic friends, but I would warn them that these arguments don’t apply to all Christians.

Really easy to use and filled with information

Really easy to use and filled with information. I've read several reviewers that say it is difficult to use on the iPhone and I can understand that. On the iPad it is very easy to use and read.
It is the simplest way to examine the bible I have ever seen. If you are looking for a literal interpretation of the bible this will not help you out. I don't take the bible literally and know it is filled with contradictions so this is not an issue for me. It is helping me to understand how people can manipulate the writing of the bible to support almost any sort of behavior they desire just be saying it is done in the name of God.
I also like the links to other holy books as well. This is helping me to understand the alleged basis for many of the cruel actions done in Gods name.
I think this is a great resource. It does require an internet connection but is also available on a CD so you can easily use it without an internet connection.
Highly recomended.

Really convenient version of the website

I've been a big fan of the Skeptic's Annotated Bible website for years, but the one problem with it is it only really works on a real computer… pulling it up on my phone sort of works, but it is hard to read and navigate.

This app completely solves this problem, and adds some cool extras (like "favorites", where you can make a list of the best verses to save up for arguments with your relatives). It also looks a lot better than the outdated SAB site.

Only complaint is it doesn't include the Book of Mormon or Koran. Hopefully those come soon.
