Skeptoid is a weekly science show dedicated to furthering knowledge by blasting away the widespread pseudosciences that infect popular culture.
Each weekly episode focuses on a single phenomenon — an urban legend, a paranormal claim, alternative therapy, or something just plain stupid — that you've heard of, and that you probably believe in. Skeptoid attempts to expose the folly of belief in non-evidence based phenomena, and more importantly, explains the factual scientific reality.
From the sublime to the startling, no topic is sacred, politically incorrect though that may be.
(Please note, not all features are available for all episodes. Call-in feature is only available on iPhone but not iPod Touch or the iPad)

Content Top Notch, App Needs Some Tweaks
Skeptoid has become a daily listen for me as the topics covered and analysis of them are both highly entertaining and informational.
I have a few concerns with the app itself though. It would be nice to be able to see the full title and information for any episode without having to click on it. Currently there is only a preview of each and this can make choosing one a bit of a chore. I have often used the mobile website view to see episode information then gone back to the app to play it. I'm not sure if this is by design to try to drive traffic to the Skeptoid site but it is decidedly inconvenient. I would also like to see the episodes sorted by topic type as also seen on the Skeptoid site (Cryptozoology , Conspiracies, etc). A third suggestion would be to add links within the app to the Skeptoid site, truth hurts TV, Here Be Dragons and so forth. There is so much good Brian Dunning content that the app can help drive users to.
Make no mistake I highly recommend this app based on content alone. A steal at the $1.99 price!
This app can be approved but great content.
I’ve only recently discovered Skeptoid. I paid for the app to have all the episodes available in one place rather than using a podcast app. Dunning makes reasoned, convincing arguments and dispels a lot popular myths. It’s a great insight into skeptical or scientific thinking.
The app can be better. I’d like to read the title of the episodes. Currently you see something like: “”Skeptoid #417: The Riddle o…”. Well, I know it’s Skeptoid and I don’t care much about the episode number. The Riddle of what? A readable list of titles will help a lot!
Include micro payments within the app. Include the transcript. Include categories (topics) so, for example, you could listen to all the episodes within the “Fad" category.
Utilize the playback screen space better. The top 1/3 of the screen is the buttons for playback and navigating an episode, so they’re too small! Usually I listen while driving, so how about bigger buttons that are driving-friendly?
Easily the best skeptical podcast ever!
This is the only app I have never actually paid for! And it is worth much more than the $1.99 price! Brian Dunning's podcast is usually under 10 minutes, and I learned something new almost every week. Is podcast has now been translated into Mandarin Chinese, tripling his audience! So be sure and spread the word to your Chinese friends and family as well.
